Was Chiz really ever a defensive whiz? I always thought he was overrated. His only year of allowing less than 200 points was in 2004 at alburn. (147)

By contrast, Kirby Smart is currently on a 5 year streak of allowing less than 200 with a low of 106 in 2011.

Is that Kirby or is it Saban? Maybe the same as Chizik and Tubs.

He consistently had top 10-15 D's when he was DC at UCF. He had great D's at Auburn, but like I said earlier, I think Coach Tub was the reason for that. I think college O's have passed that Tampa style of D bye. I hope Coach Chiz gets another shot. I just am not sure what competent program would hire him as anything but a position coach, at the moment.

Kirby has had more talent to work with than any program in the last 25 years. My nod goes to Chiz.

When did 200 points allowed become a means of measuring defensive success?

The 2004 schedule was a joke, too.
