This list was made in early August 2009.
The replacements are bolded, again just my opinion...
Alabama- Namath
Auburn- Sullivan Newton
Arkansas- Joe Ferguson Mallet
LSU- Bert Jones
Ole Miss- Archie Manning
Miss St.- Madkin
South Carolina- Todd Ellis
Tennessee-Manning
Kentucky- Blanda
Florida- Shane Mathews Tebow
Georgia- Tarkenton
Vandy- Cutler
Mizzou Daniel
HYC Johnny Football
Who you got??

Wtf? What about Rex and Danny?

The only thing great about Namath was his quick release. I might be wrong, but I think even McCarron would have done well in the 1960s AFL.
Newton is obvious for Auburn.
Bert Jones for LSU? Jamarcus sucks in today's NFL, but could you imagine what he could have done in the 70s NFL?

Sorry the list was best QB, singular not a list of great ones from each school. Matthews did more with less talent around him than Grossman and Danny. IMO Shane Mathews was a better QB.

Rex Grossman and DW in my opinion were better than Shane Mathews but Tim Tebow is definetly the best UF QB of all time

Mizzou Chase without a doubt

I would have to say Danny Wuerffel for Florida

Tim Tebow had a 74 QB passer rating in the NFL to Wuerffel's 56.
Both did well in college, but Tebow's rushing stats put him above and beyond Wuerffel.

Tarkenton is easily one of the best, but it's hard to argue with Murray after his production. Give the guy a decent defense for at least two of his years (not to mention a respectable OL) and he probably leaves with some meaningful hardware beyond some division titles.

I'm not familiar with Tarkenton's college stats, but the guy was unstoppable in the NFL. He raped Unitas's all-time passing records. And he added some rushing records for good measure.
He was also the first athletic host of SNL.

Namath was the living embodiment of the regression towards the mean.
His stats are straight down the line mediocre (if not poor). Yet, he threw the ball far and often enough to be a valuable asset in the Jets 1967-1969 seasons.
Eventually, the Jets defense just couldn't keep up with all the balls that Namath was turning over, and they struggled throughout the 70s.
