Sorry if I'm late to the party. I always love win Kentucky wins in bball. They are the only fanbase that can understand how Bama fans feel.

Ever since I moved to Kentucky from Alabama 10 years ago, I've been amazed at the crossover between the two fanbases. I actually worked near a road in Corbin, KY called Crimson Tide Lane.

Part goes back to historic family ties between the states. I think Harlan's uncle was from Alabama. Seems my grandfather - Mobile - told me there was some famous couple where the wife was from AL and the husband was from KY back in the days of the Kitty Hawk jet set.

I have just always pulled for Kentucky and I have no real reason. When not playing the Tide.
I think was watching Rajon Rondo playing back in the day.
I miss playing basketball.

I will get crucified for this on The Rant but I have thought the same thing. I am a die hard LSU Tiger FB fan so it is hard to post praise on Bama but even though I hate them I highly respect them as our fiecest competition. I was born and raised in KY and therfore a lifelong Cat fan but I have lived in LA for 30+ yrs. I get to see both fanbases from a distance and the homers are very similar indeed.

Totally diff sports, yes, but our fan bases are similar in our passion. That passion makes us targets for other, less successful fans. It also makes me respect Bama's football program more. It makes me jelly, too.
