I mean Florida is clearly the best. If ping pong were a sanctioned SEC sport is there any doubt Florida would compete?
Number two belongs to LSU. Their football, track and baseball success speak for themselves.
To my own surprise, I have concluded that South Carolina currently sits at number three. Good football, great baseball and good women's basketball team.

All sports should be taken into account when discussing best overall athletic programs.

Well, A&M and UF are the only 2 schools to finish in the Top 10 of the Directors Cup for the last 4 years.

Yeah if you're talking all sports you'd have to do a good bit of research. UF would still be number one but look at all this
- A&M has really good women's bball and softball
- SC has really good equestrian (along with the other sports you mentioned) and have ranked golf and tennis teams I believe
- UGA is a tennis powerhouse, great equestrian too I believe
- AU has great equestrian and I believe swimming
- Arkansas is a track powerhouse
- 'Bama is a gymnastics powerhouses
etc. etc. etc.
But yes, SC finished #4 in football, is ranked #1 in baseball, and our women's bball team will be a 2 seed in the tourny so we are doing well in the more prominently featured sports.
Not a legit competition. If I'm not mistaken they consider sports that some schools, like us, don't have, so we automatically get zeroes added into our score.

We've finished in the top 5 every single year of it.
Edit: Stanford has won it every year though.

Add to the list:
swimming/diving (5 national championships)
gymnastics (10 national championships)
Equestrian has won 5 NCs, men's tennis has won 8 NC's, and women's tennis has won 5 NC's. Both our golf programs have 3 NC's.
Softball is always competitive and has made the CWS a few times.

We're also respectable at Women's Basketball. We're pretty much good/great at everything but the Big 3 (Football we fluctuate from mediocre to really good, Basketball is usually disappointing, Baseball is in a historic slump whereas it is usually pretty solid).

currently we are performing way below average
however, historically we are number 1 and arky is number 2. the titles can't be argued

Are y'all still tied with 42 NCAA titles?
Posted on 3/16/14 at 1:56 pm to Korin
i think we had 45 or something on last count and arky lost a few to ncaa sanctions. Then again it has been a few years since i looked at the total count. We also seem to be slumping right now in everything thanks to joe alleva
