Anyone else gotten anything that feels like strep with a wicked cough and high fever this year?

My wife woke me up in the middle of the night to take my temp 2 nights ago because I was burning her up from across the bed.

I've heard about it but our family has been fine. A guy at work has several sliced onions on his desk and around his office to ward off the illness.

Get well soon.

Had that shite start trying to get up on me a few weeks back (exposed to pollen in north Florida). I did two days of antibiotics, with a lot of ibuprofen, and some Claritin D. Staved off the worst of it and was out of the woods in about four days. Good luck. It could get nasty.

Everyone in my school got sick with Rotavirus this past week. You get it from not wiping your arse correctly and then one person passes it to the next and so on. Took everyone out for 3 days with high temps, throwing up, and the shits.

Luckily I was on my senior trip

No vomiting and no diarrhea. Just sore throat, high fever and severe dehydration. I only pissed twice yesterday but both times it was brown...not yellow with a hint of brown...just brown. Forced myself to power down some pedialyte and Gatorade (hurt and burned like hell) but urine is back to normal and fever is coming down. I was probably set back because I had to work both days this weekend with temps around 101-103

yeah...I was a bit startled by it. I was just that dehydrated. My throat hurt too much to drink anything for 3 days but once I saw brown urine, I just suffered through rehydrating myself. Things are starting to return to normal now. Temp is still a little elevated but everything else seems to be getting better.

Glad you're feeling better. Sounds like it might have been pharyngitis or strep infection. Both can spread to the kidneys and cause inflammation. Did you ever go to the doc?

2 days, the strep part was mild and only over one part of the throat, did not hinder eating or drinking but it did sting, still feel it a little bit.

No...I didn't, because I had to work. I just treated myself with Tylenol for the pain and fever, and drank the hell out of electrolyte laden fluids.

Oh, and had some chicken soup.

I hear ya. Just for future reference though brown urine is usually something you want to see someone about.

Trust me, it was a startlement. I knew it wasn't good, and also knew that it was probably due to dehydration, and that all that was left to come out was the impurities that the kidneys filter.

If it had continued after I forced down the electrolytes, I would have gone to the Dr. but, it quite literally went right back to clear-yellowish immediately.

I seriously do not remember the last time I got sick from a flu or cold, maybe back when I was in high school, some 12years ago. I know u guys ain't gonna like hearing it, but that marijuana keeps the doctor away! Too bad our players will get kicked off the team for a proven medicine with over a thousand years Plus of history, compared to our highly advanced medicine that's been around a hundred or so years.

I'm sorry marijuana doesn't fit to your normal view of a medicine since it doesn't come with a 30 sec to a minute ad listing mostly side effects, which many can be fatal. It also comes in the natural form which is very easy to grow and easy to stay self sustained, while all other forms of medicine comes in a pill form, which you can only get from a drugstore. I'm sorry you do not see marijuana as a medicine.

Aslo, you are sooner to die from drinking water compared to smoking weed. Fact! Can any other medicine, I mean pill, do that?

I'll start inducing all my patients with marijuana and N20, the only MAC they will be receiving for amnesia, anesthesia, CV and neural automaticity, and hypnotic is the BIGMAC they desire from getting the munchies.. Do you really want to have this discussion?

This is irrelevant to the discussion..cars kill more people per year than bears...should I ride a bear to work?

And as a medical professional, you have no idea what fits my normal view of medicine, the fact that my understanding of medicine might be a little more ...let's say...vast compared to yours...may lead me to other conclusions.

please refer to a little education dawgjw, it could do you some good,

This was my response to an advocate for loading our players up with marijuana, to make them supreme athletes..... Because, of course, that makes perfect sense..JFC

Interesting adawgj...tell me more about how thc (specificaly, (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) , enhances neurosynapses,,maybe it increases myelin sheaths or enhances the axons to send improved signals, let us not forget that THC is an exogenous agonist of G - protein CB1 receptors (canibinoid receptors) which produce the high but happen to also have a say in memory, concentration, timing, coordination, etc..

In fact this has been proven through research and experimentation, time and time again, this is why the up regulating of CB1 receptors via acquired responses such as disease, or drug use, can be overcame through the use of Marijuana...in other words,,the excitability due to down regulation of the cell can be "decreased" through the introduction of ThC into the presynaptic nerve terminal, where it occupies the CB1 G linked receptors to create a suppressed response, so you get reduced seizures..hence. why we have medicinal marijuana...This drug gets you high, it's awesome, no doubt,,it doesn't improve your concentration, your response time, your IQ, or your looks...but it makes you feel like it does...it's all relative,,,to everyone else you're in slow motion

and in response to you, it's not good for your lungs either, you're not clearing up the cold or influenza by smoking a joint....
and good luck to your continued good health.
