My roommate told me ground breaking ceremony is in March or April. He is currently in a meeting about how much his department is donating for each one has to contribute

Sucks that we won't be able to see the roof of the BAC anymore. Twas a beautiful sight.

Yeah, all the footballs and frisbees stuck up there during the game will be missed.

Love the insight.
Did you mention you'd be in California at some point in a different post?

Marty, did you post this elsewhere earlier today?
The funding hasn't been approved as of yet, going to the board!
Folks, this will bring in much needed revenue for club seats, etc. But at what costs. Will other seats open up and be void for the games?
there has been a waiting list for Suites, I got a survey asking how much I would be willing to pay for a suite / Club section which includes food, drinks, etc. I already have 4 outdoor club and 4 lower level. Not sure I can up my donation on a yearly basis

Really? Figured this wouldn't start for a little while longer, like 2015 at the earliest

Also....I had been told earlier that the big screens in each corner will probably be in place this coming season.

To catch up to the multiple responses in this thread.
Straight from my roommate who works for UA. He could be l wrong on this of course. He said we could expect construction to start during the season, what that construction will be, I have no idea. This is the first time I've posted this.
Sun, I could be in Cali this summer yes. San Fran area for a few months.

Its probably at least a year project. They probably want to get it done by the Spring Game 2015 maybe. Or at least by the start of 2015 season.

I doubt he is wrong.
This is what I saw earlier..
"Heard from a friend today that in the next couple of months this will be taken to the Board of Directors or whatever they call it to be voted on."
Here is the link for what is purposed for the future...

Yea, his department approved their funding tonight quickly. If imagine the other departments are doing the same. Once they all approve it they will send it to the board I guess.

quote:well, it looks phenomenal and I hope we go for it, but we also need to win some games to keep excitement and tix sales up.

It helps that we have no pro teams here as well. WPS, thanks Marty!

Beat me to it...
Football stadium renovations usually take place immediately after the season ends in preparation for the coming season, though there are exceptions. I remember us playing at Ole Miss, I think in the Manning era, when they were renovating an end zone in the middle of the season. Who knows, maybe they didn't want to work on a compressed schedule, which is understandable.

State and LSU were both remodeling their stadiums this year during the season.

Really depends on how long the construction company thinks it will take.
See Miss State renovation...they were working on it during the season.
The end zone enclosure is going to be a lot of concrete, because it's only going to be club seats and suites. Not just a new bleacher build.

Forgot about LSU, though I do remember Alabama renovating mid-season a few years ago when they were in the process of going over the 100k mark.
