If State doesn't win by 70, I'll be very pissed.

Also, if Alcorn beats them they should just shut the entire program down. Hell, do that anyway. They're a complete joke.

Too bad USM couldn't get MSU scheduled back when they were worth a damn (USM that is)

Been waiting on this one a long time. I live in Hattiesburg so I had to hear about how great they were 3 years ago and BOOM! look what happened 1-23 in their past 2 years including a 23 game losing streak

USM just flipped 2 recruits this weekend. One from Georgia State and another from SAMford

Southern stopped reciriting mississippi and mississippi jucos and the result was 1-23. Look at the success ULL has had getting the players Southern used to get.

Exactly.

My theory as to why USM has had such a drastic dropoff is this - all those prospects from Pensacola to Lafayette who perhaps barely missed out on an SEC offer used to go there. But with programs like ULL, ULM, South Alabama, Troy, etc really investing in their programs - those kids are staying close to home.

Back in the old days USM vs. Ole Miss or MSU was a big game. Would like to see USM get it turned around.

Not happening any time soon. If they win 3 or 4 this year its a big improvement.

Fedora ignored Jeff Bower's time-tested recruiting trail for under evaluated talent across the Deep South and went after some guys that he either wasn't going to get in the first place, or were going to bust (i.e Anthony Alford). Although, Fedora did a good job with Bower's players. It doesn't help that USM, even during a good season, puts no one in the stands and invests very little in facility improvement-except for expanding the stadium, which, again, no one goes to.
