just wait to see Coleman in a month.
they won't even need lights past the first few rows.
Otherwise, Coleman at one time was an exciting place to watch a game. But it's been nearly as long as the last time MTV played videos.

Its always been a multi-purpose arena, kind of serving as an event center for the city as well as bball arena. No idea why it was made the way it was though

i watched games there in the early/mid 80s, but i don't know when it was built ... the current state of the program probably has as much to do with the perception of cc as the building itself ...
i wish the program could be repurposed ...

TBH, the building being as big as it is offers a lot of extra room for locker rooms, weight rooms, team offices, etc. Much more so than most arenas built around the same time. Alabama planned ahead well in this case.

built in the 60's. at the time largest arena in the state.
there's been a few concerts there in the past. floor is too small for a circus or Monster truck event.
thankfully.

I think atmospheres are on the decline as a whole in the casual basketball towns. Auburn, Georgia, and ole miss should take the cake on this. LSU has a nice arena but all 4 times I been there it's been lucky to be half full. Alabama looks like the hold a rodeo in there when no basketball is being played. State used to have a very intense atmosphere but it has gotten real bad. UK, ark, and I assume Mizzou support there well either way but college basketball has become hard to watch. This coming from a guy who missed 4 games in 5 years as a student
