It seems like even the biggest recruiting sunshine pumpers have conceded Kenny to UCLA/A&M.

Just don't see any indication that we get him. I hope I'm wrong but he looks like A&Ms to lose. Not sure why but I never got the feeling he was extremely interested in going to LSU. In any case whoever picks him up will get a hell of a player.

Well, it's pretty much a 50/50 shot for everybody so they're not wrong.

50% LSU, 50% A&M, 50% UCLA, 50% Arky?

From what the tea leaves appear it looks like LSU may have waited too long to make a real push for him. It's always a risk when you assume certain players are likely to flip so you slow play them while going after others. The other schools have gone after Kenny hard as a priority from the get go.

Not sure that is the case but it seems to be a factor. A&M for instance is able to say they are moving Claiborne to WLB so the MLB slot is open and he they would love to see Young win that job over Soph Mastro and RS Fish Chevis, that's been their message from the beginning.

UCLA has a ton of sex appeal but So Cal is a LONG way from home.

That said, HS kids make decisions based on crazy stuff all the time so who knows what he does.

I did the same.

Also, I think KY is going to A&M. I think he will be a hell of a player.

Not sure why

Among presumed other reasons, we have a very young linebacker corps and are bringing in Garrett, who almost everyone in the LSU camp thinks is a sure thing. Young is skilled, but he has zero chance of starting his first year without multiple injuries and, considering the depth at the position, should honestly expect to redshirt and get a chance for some PT his second year. A&M, on the other hand, is less stocked with high-level talent at the position and will probably majorly overhaul its defense this offseason, so Young hast he opportunity to come in and immediately earn some PT.

The situation for early PT is just obviously better at A&M. This isn't a dig at Young or A&M's guys, it just seems pretty clear.

I heard he just simply doesn't like LSU or Louisiana. But I get why you wouldn't want to acknowledge that.

Who really knows. The fact that Les said Kendall Beckwith was moving back to LB this year pretty much tells me they're not confident with Kenny Young at all.

Believe you. He has a better chance to play a lot at A&M very soon. Has to be somewhat appealing to a kid who wants a chance to be on the field right away.

If we get Young and flip Alaka, our LBs for this class will go from meh to good.
