Here's my take. If we're going to claim that he's a good coach now that he's coming back, we need to stop trashing coaches when they leave like Nuss and Rumph

Exactly. If he was so wonderful, we would have found a way to keep him around the first time.

There hasn't been a pass rush from the d-line since Saban got here, won't change with this hire, unfortunately.

I don't think it is a wonderful hire. Rumph was the better recruiter. After 3 seasons though it's obvious Bo is the better coach.

It pisses me off how we have zero pass rush. We have more fricking D talent than anyone in the country. We should be obliterating QBs.

Especially years where the secondary is weak like this past season.

Who's trashing them?

Luther Davis

I thought Deaderick was pretty good.

Ever since it was announced they were leaving, how many positive posts have you read about the jobs they did here? How many negative posts?
The same thing was done when Davis left 3 years ago. That's all I'm saying.

Didn't say that Bo developed them as human beings.

Everything I have seen on Nuss has been to the effect of "He's good but it's time for change".
Rumph has been met with "meh".

He was good enough to start for the patriots for 2.5 seasons.

I don't think this is a home run hire. Bo is certainly a solid coach though. I think dline play will remain largely the same. People were excited about Rumph because they thought it would lead to a more aggressive pass rush. At this point it seems pretty clear that isn't going to happen regardless of who the coach is.

Oh really?
And again, I'm not saying some criticism isn't warranted, but the same type things were said of Bo

This is a serious concern. How can we NOT have a pass rush? It's ridiculous.

Not much to explain. I just don't think he's that good of a coach.
Thanks for the in depth analysis there captain.

Fair enough, but I didn't post in that thread and tend to avoid "Fire XXX coach" on general principal as they are usually idiotic and I discount most of what comes out of those threads.

Texas was ranked #83 in rushing defense. Terrible hire.

Same old shitty pass rush, which will expose our meh secondary.
