I mean the Cleveland Browns and others in the NFL would love to have him. But he seems to love it on the plains. What a meteoric rise.

I don't think anyone thought he'd have Auburn back so quickly. The way this team looked pretty mediocre at the start of the year and just improved their level of play week after week was amazing.

He'll have us in the thick of the playoff picture for as long as he stays imo.

Nope. I did predict 8 wins this year though.

I wanted petrino personally. I thought Gus could win 8 but with petrino I thought we could win more with the talent we had.

Auburn was very lucky this year - they easily could have lost two more SEC games, and an average LSU team destroyed them. Let's wait a see if they have any staying power before we crown Gus as King. I predict they fall back to the middle of the pack next year.

I was going to start a thread earlier tonight asking if anyone, outside of Little Rock, would even know who Gus is without Mustain and Damian Williams?

Crazy the success the guy has had.

I did not. I will say this. I like Gus. Auburn was easy to hate w/tubs there. Gus not so much.

I think he's a really good coach, but I also think auburn was the beneficiary of fortuitous bounces this year. Which isn't a slight at all to them. It takes that to win an nc.

One mark I a great coach? Team got better week end/week out. They for sure did that.

If I'm an aubie guy, I'm damn proud of the state of my program, and the fact the a classy guy got me there.

Stop. 2 miracles don't make a good coach. He shay the bed in the Nash.

I thought so. I didn't want him there - his offense rocks. the only thing that stops him is himself. He got waaaay too cute in the second half of the BCS game.

I think he hangs around for awhile and leaves, hopefully, in the next few years to the pros.

1 good year does not a career make, particularly not one filled with tons of lucky wins.

Let's see at least a 2nd year of success before crowning him the next hot potato.

Gus is an outstanding coach. There is no denying that. He has been nothing but successful in the college game. 2011 was tough, but he had no QB. I am ecstatic to have him as our coach.
