Saban has already said he is moving to the HUNH. You guys don't read the press much, eh? From Saban's mouth:
"I think the time is coming where we'll probably do it, too," he said. (referring to the HUNH). LINK
Also during the BCS title game Saban was asked what FSU needed to do on offense. His response? "FSU needs to go more up tempo to stop AU from stunting their D-line." I am paraphrasing this one since I watched it live during half-time, but that's basically what he said.
Yes, Saban will run the HUNH. Sorry, bammers, but he is smarter than you and knows he must adapt or die.
Saban has BEEN doing this for the past 6 years. Not the whole game, but he does it. And every time, the fans don't seem to notice and Vern is like, "LOOK AT THIS! SABAN IS GOING HURRY UP! THAT'S NEW!" I think I've heard this 3 times a year since Saban has been here.

It is really easy to figure out, they are going for someone to make them a spread offense. The ole' if you can't beat them , join them. Elementary.

It all starts up the middle.....
When Bama's D under Saban hasn't had a run stopper NT that holds their ground, it's falter. Shoot, look no further than last years SEC Title game. When Jessie Williams went out with injury for a bit. Georgia's offense looked totaly different and Bama's Defense wasn't even close to the same Defense. JW was able to get pass rush push up the middle if needed too. Mt. Cody and Williams have been Bama's best NT's and our defense has shined with them.
Regardless, Saban and Staff might need to change it up some anyways. Bama has to be one of the most studied Champions ever. Especially when considering all the bye-week teams Saban has faced. I don't think another program has even 1/2 the number of bye-week opponents Bama has faced since Saban took over. Someone call Guinness World records....lol Throw in today's mobile technology, great defensive coaching staffs in SEC, the same QB at Bama for 3 seasons, and Bama being the hunted. A little change might not hurt. Plus football is always shifting trends anyways so it's not to big of a deal.

Funny how perceptions develop. Bama has defended several legitimate dual threat QB's. As someone said earlier, Saban's defense is predicated on taking away what a team wants to do offensively and make them uncomfortable. When Bama has lost, the opposing QB has been able to make plays when he may have been uncomfortable with what he was given.
Still, two of our big losses the past 2 years(A&M last year, Auburn this year) it was our offense that failed to convert a critical 4th down in the 4th quarter.
The defense is fine. We didn't have the personnel this year to run it the way he wants to. The CB's were exposed a few times, and it caught up with us in the Sugar Bowl against a hot QB. The defense will be fine, but we may still see some more tinkering with it. We've already seen some. But the offense was just too stagnant this year. With the talent we had, that should not have happened. It was time for a change, and I look forward to seeing what changes are made.

From what I am being told, Saban and Nuss had a very frank conversation about Saban's expectations for the offense next year with a young, inexperienced QB coming in. Saban wanted a run heavy offense centered around Henry and Yeldon that could play ball control and keep his D off the field. Nuss wanted to stay balanced and audition for a HC job. This opportunity came up at UM that offered Nuss a big raise and Saban told him he had his blessing to take it. Probably best for both sides that Nuss left.
I can see this happening

He was told after the iron bowl that he needed to start looking around, as were a few other coaches, including cristobal. There is going to be some changes made throughout the program. There will be some players who will be processed as well because of their attitudes and not buying in. Seems that after the LSU game there was a faction of the team that decided they were the best in the country and just had to show up to win. We see how that worked out for them.
Saban is cleaning house and getting rid of the cancer and other factors that held us back this year. There is always the chance that the new hires could not work out like he planned but I trust him to not make the same mistakes twice with hiring. He seems to have a pretty good track record for learning from mistakes in the past.

The biggest problem Bama's defense is having is the offense isn't creating 15 play / 8-9 minute drives. Why Nuss is out imho.
I share this opinion.
