this is bullshite. Albert Belle would have been in the HOF a long time ago if the media wasn't full of pussies
"Albert Belle was mean to me in the lockerroom so i'm gonna just ignore all the shite he did on the field."

I sold Frank's daddy a truck for Frank back in Columbus, Ga., in 1981 or 82. Good folks. I believe that Frank could have had a great career in the NFL as a tight end, but, wisely he stuck to baseball.

Played baseball and was Peyton Manning's backup.
Congratulations Big Hurt! One of my all-time favorites.

You are comparing apples to grapefruits. Again, Albert/Joey was a power hitting OF. Biggio was a middle IF. No middle IF is going to put up OF numbers. Albert/Joey had a good major league career. He will never sniff the HOF, unless he buys a ticket to go in.

i know....but he should. those are HOF numbers. there were sportswriters that came out and specifically said they weren't going to vote for Belle because they thought he was a jerk. that is bullshite

Sorry for hijacking this thread. Congrats to Frank....one of my favorite all time players

The guy had 5 or 6 good (not great) years. IMO, you need more than Albert brought to be HOF material...again, just my opinion.

Funny thing about Dye and Big Hurt....the story goes that big Frank went into Dye's office to tell him he was quitting football to concentrate full time on baseball, and Dye told him that his future was in Football, that he wouldn't make it in baseball. Perhaps an apocryphal story, but I've heard that from many people.
Cheers to the Big Hurt!

Congratulations Frank Thomas!
I would love to see Todd Walker and Paul Byrd make it one day also.

I played for the White Sox at the same time Frank Thomas was playing for them. I was never able to meet him in person though.

PS- and who that knows Coach Dye would have expected anything different?
