Top 5 rushing yard seasons:
1. Herschel Walker - 1891 yards, 4.9 YPC, 18 TDs
2. Darren McFadden - 1830 yards, 5.6 YPC, 16 TDs
3. Tre Mason - 1816 yards, 5.7 YPC, 23 TDs
4. Bo Jackson - 1786 yards, 6.4 YPC, 17 TDs
5. Herschel Walker - 1752 yards, 5.2 YPC, 16 TDs
Argument could be made that it was the best of all time. Compare YPC to Herschel. Completely blew everyone out in TDs
Annnnnnd go

I think Mason is the hardest runner I have ever watched. Talk about maximizing ones potential..
He ran incredibly hard last year as well with no help.
As for where he ranks, I dunno. Everyone on that list was bigger and faster than Mason and had more athletic ability.
None ran as hard IMO though.

Tre Mason is the truth. I'll never forget being soaking wet in Tiger Stadium, not thinking Auburn had a team that was really all that great after we looked kind of shaky in the first three weeks, and watching Auburn get blown up for most of the first quarter. Then you see Tre just shouting at people, calling for the ball, trying to get us back in it, and he got a little emotion stirred up and we made a little comeback. It wasn't enough to win, but he became the starter that day and absolute took over as the emotional leader of a team that played with more heart than any Auburn team I have ever seen before, and that includes 2010.

This sums this argument up perfectly. Tre Mason is a great back. Stats are not the best way to compare him to other great backs.

Then tell me what sets the other seasons above his
He averaged more yards than all 4 except Bo...plus he was running it every play, everyone knew it, and he powered through everyone
he set an SECCG record that will never be broken
He is a dominating runner

His yards per carry and yards in general are all products of the offense he is in. Above average at best.
