If you don't discipline and make examples of wrongdoers after they've had plenty of chances, then you just end up with a Stansbury type team full of dysfunction.

according to statsheet.com- Stands teams failed to shoot 67% 7 of 14 seasons. And you can thank goodness his last 4 teams shot FT's so well- because it was 7 of 10 before then

Yes you do- the players have to be held accountable. If you dont, you end up with the program blowing up ala Stands

Bundy, how do you feel after such a relentless bashing of logic and reasoning?

I stand how I have been standing since Ray was hired. I think he was one of the worst possible hires we could have ever made. I think he's a gread person but he's not much of a coach. We should have hired someone with head coaching experience.

You would think Bundy would learn from his early Cohen meltdowns -- but obviously not.

X's and O's maybe, but X's and O's don't mean jack if you can't recruit I the Jimmy's and joes who can execute the offense by hitting an open 3 pointer, can make a backcut and finish with a foul,or can post up and score on the block.

I just don't get how y'all all think the future is great when we are squeaking by Jackson State and SE Louisiana. One one of our wins are against a team with more than 3 wins and we have only played one team with a winning record. Usu

TCU has a winning record as well -- but don't let facts get in your way.

It's a good thing Rider and East Tennessee St never happened with all that talent that we had...

No one in here has said the future is great. It's too early to tell. Just like last year when we had these talks. Obviously you still haven't learned.

Exactly. Ray has 1 recruiting class on the team now. That crap he threw in at the last second when he was hired doesnt count- all you get is leftovers at that point.

His 1st recruiting class has Ready and 2 guys now redshirting. Ok- I can handle that.

This year is another struggle because Stands player couldnt stop doing drugs and the other Sr couldnt get healthy. That's not Ray's fault.

I'm watching to see how much the young guys improve over the season. That's what Ray will be judged on.

Next year, his 2nd recruiting class will be on the team- plus, what he has been developing. Then you can start judging Rick Ray on what kind of coach he is- and where he may be able to take the program.

Bunty,

this means there's nothing to bitch about until next year. A year that will almost certainly be improved from this year, which will certainly be improved from last year. I don't know why anyone would bitch about a program that improves every year. Until that doesn't happen, there's really nothing to bitch about.

Would've lost these games last year. That's a sign of improvement.

You forgot TCU. Utah State is a tournament team. So don't talk like that's a bad loss. Especially their place.

So one recruiting class, where only one player is on the court determines he can't recruit? Damn you took that to a whole new level.

How many 4 star players does Ray have coming in next year? How many does he have committed or is he in on in the 2015 class???

Go ahead and say Malik Newman, which he is giving a fighters chance with but hes likely going to end up at Kentucky.

Who gives a crap? All I care about is our program getting more W's this year than last year. If he can't recruit it'll be proven in time, but just because he hasn't brought one of the hundred-ish four star and above rated players to Starkville Mississippi in his second year doesn't mean I'm going to crucify him.

You would think that the recruiting meltdown you and others had last Feb and what has transpired since would have taught you something by now...

Much like Cohen's early classes and Mullen's year in and year out- Ray's are going to likely be developmental classes.
We are going to recruit like a mid-major. We are going to get guys that come in and develop over time, stay in school, and perform well as Jr's and Sr's. We are going to have less drama queens, fewer transfers, fewer discipline problems, etc once Ray has a program of his recruiting classes- which will be next season. Roc Johnson will be the last Stands player that was tainted by his coaching.

And this is why Rick Ray isn't going to make it very long in the SEC. You don't win in the SEC like that. Look at Trent Johnson at LSU, Jeff Lebo at Auburn, Buzz Peterson at Tenn, John Pelphrey at Ark. All good coaches who weren't able to recruit big name players and prospects to their respective SEC schools and never had sustained success.

The same can be said for Rod Barnes (who I think is a great guy and good coach) his last 5 years at Ole Miss after the Provine posse graduated and he was unable to bring in big time recruits.

We are playing in the SEC not a mid major conference. Currently the only good players we have Sword, Ware, and Thomas(who's struggled BAD this year) are 4 star players. IJ Ready, aint ready and Davis I dont have a clue whats wrong with him, Bloodman gives all he has but aint that good, and Bortchert cant play without getting into foul trouble.

If Ray wants to recruit like a mid major program he needs to model his recruiting after Wichita State how they go and get tough kids who can play from JUCOs in the south. They come in ready to play and contribute. I know Ray wants to "Develop" players but sometimes you need instant help. Like we need next year in the post and a knockdown 3 pt shooter.

How many times do I have to explain to you, that the discrepancy between 3 and 4 stars isn't the same gap that it is in football? I've told you multiple times that a 3 star in basketball is just as good as a 4 star. The difference? Development.

You're acting like a child. Ray shut you up last year, and I guarantee he will again.
