They don't take rejection very well. Wish they allowed people to cancel their account online. I see now why they're able to hold onto customers.

Just got through canceling because I don't ever watch it and Uverse became available in my neighborhood. Heard good things about it. May get it at some point.

What was the best deal they offered for you to stay?

Tell your credit card company to cut the cord. When they don't get money they will cut their service. I like to avoid confrontation as much as possible. Problem solved on our end.

had been paying $151 a month for my current package. said she could get it down to $78 for 12 months.

then offered a basic package with sports for like 50 or 60 dollars for the same 12 month contract

Just wait until they start calling, to get you back.

Every year, just at Christmas, I cancel (threaten to cancel) Directv. Every year I get 3-6 months of free HBO/Max.

One year when they didn't offer and I did cancel they called daily with outrageous freebies and deals until I reactivated.

had a buddy who rented from me at the time who got it in the duplex I was leasing him. got a good deal from him.

had it for about 3 1/2 years. Rarely ever watched it though. going to school full time and taking care of rental property killed all my tv watching time. I just kept putting off canceling it. Felt like I needed a TV package. But finally decided to pull the plug. Seemed like an unnecessary bill when I can watch pretty much anything I'd want to watch online anyway. Of course I still may get Uverse at some point because of the ability to play Razorback games on my iPad and their internet is supposed to be pretty good.

Man I really wanted to take advantage of the deals she was offering. But I had to keep reminding myself I might get a good deal, but I'd still be paying money to not watch tv

I would go ahead and block their number if you gave them a cell number, they will call you and call you like others have said. It is crazy but I guess that is how they make all their money.

I had no problems when I canceled. Were you up front about what you wanted?

We threaten to cancel every year and they always give us 50% off for 12 months. When our bill goes back up to $99 we call to cancel and they always cut our bill in half for the next year, done it 3 times now.

Trying to cancel Cox internet though, don't even get me started.

Yup. I had to say I wanted to cancel 6 or 7 times. Each time she would ask me a question or offer me discounts till I finally had her convinced nothing she could say would convince me to not cancel.

Just looked at my phone and it took 20 minutes to cancel
