It's one or the other.

quote:

Neither fanbase can be "trashier."

Sure they can. Just like you can be smarter, or funnier, or cleaner, or nicer than someone else.

The correct answer is Bama fans in Florida.

I would say the members of your fanbase who kill others and ruin traditions would qualify as "trash."

Sorry, but obsessive people who destroy landmarks beloved by many and people who stab kids, only to get a retarded man to try and take the fall, are undeniably "trashy."

They're filth that really don't do anything for those of us who manage to get through life without acting in that manner.

The only difference between the Atlanta script "A" and the Alabama script "A" is the mullet.

Having lived in Alabama for 45 years I can testify that UAT fans are the most arrogant and yet the most uneducated group I have ever seen. Kind of like the 51% who voted for Obanocchio. They know who the UAT coach is and the names of his children but could not tell you the name of their congressman or state senators.

The sidewalk UAT fan can usually be seen in Walmart wearing a wifebeater and ballcap [always 2 types of apparel] and drives a truck with a giant script A plastered on the side.

Many of them work for a guy who drives a Beemer and has an Auburn Alumni Association sticker on his windshield.

Your contention is people do this because they are Alabama fans? If so I would suggest you work on your critical thinking skills.

The guy who thinks I should hold off on labeling the murderers, attempted murderers and property destroyers as "trash" is now questioning my critical thinking skills?

Not to mention the "contention" you bring up, which nobody has uttered (except for you).

I will admit that more successful sports teams (at all levels) tend to attract people looking for something to cheer for. Those people tend to be what you all are probably referencing.

Right now in the state of Alabama those types of people are cheering for Alabama football because it is the more successful program. They don't pay attention to the other sports teams though because those sports aren't as flashy. I would hardly call those individuals "Alabama fans."

When Auburn was the more successful program (admittedly, a small timeframe) you saw more of these individuals moving towards that program. Should Auburn become a more successful program in the coming years you will see a shift towards that program. I bet you wouldn't see those individuals cheering on the Swimming & Diving program though, so they could hardly be considered "Auburn fans."
