I give you:

Murray INT on 1st down late in 2nd qtr at the Clemson 17 after Watkins fumble with game tied at 21?

Botched field goal snap at the Clemson 2 late in the 3rd quarter with dogs down 38-31?

Murray sack and fumble return for td versus Mizz with them already up 21-10?

Douglas fumble on Mizz 10 with them up 28-10?

Tennesse fumble in OT to give UGA the win?

Ramik Wilson personal foul call at Vandy on 4th and 4 after a stop in the beginning of the 4th quarter with UGA up 27-14?

Collin Barber fumbled snap on UGA 13 with 4:44 at Vandy and dogs up 27-24?

Botched deflection at Auburn?

Failure to get a pass off from our own 25 to win the game at Auburn?

Gurley in OT versus the nerds?

Damn that hurt to write.

Hard to pin it on one play, but I'd like to say one game (TN) was the difference in iur season.

Get over it. It was AU! End of story. We will own them next year, when they are a bottom tier team again.

I would argue each play that injured a player.

Followed up by the play the Refs caused due to bad calls in the Vandy game.

Because we had 4 losses and a ton of injuries it's hard to point to one play that was the biggest difference in the season but the loss to Vandy was absolutely our worst loss and the low point in our season for me. At that point I realized just how bad our defense really was and that the injuries on offense had made a huge impact. But yea, if you had to nail down one play, it probably was Gurley's ankle injury against LSU followed by Wilson's personal foul vs Vandy which was the turning point in that game that allowed Vandy to come back for the win. Lack of discipline costs us games every season.

Conley's dropped 2 point conversion against Mizzou. Would've tied the game and totally shifted the momentum in that game and potentially the season. Not blaming Conley, kids a baller, but that sticks in my mind.

He catches balls at the 4 and drops key 2 point conversions. Tsk tsk.

Agree..on Gurly injury.

I would have to say the turnovers (caused by Mizz) are the biggest because without those we MIGHT could have continued momentum and come back in that game. With that game we are in the SECCG and likely don't show up to Vandy in such a funk.

Can't really pinpoint it on one play. I'd say the 4th and Grantham was most indicative of this abortion of a season though

Murray's 50 yard scramble in the UT game has to be it. I was at that game and it was a real turning point, when things were beginning to really fall apart for Murray to step up and take control of the game like that. The team needed that kind of inspiration to win the game, and had we lost to Tennessee this season could have really fallen apart.

Exactly. The play against Clemson when he got his leg/ankle rolled up on is the easy choice here.

It was LSU but I agree. We got outplayed by Mizzou but he might have made a huge difference in that game and I highly doubt we would have lost to Vandy with him in there. So if we could have possibly beat Mizzou and handled Vandy with Gurley we could be sitting at 10-2 right now. And it's crazy to think that if the Auburn miracle didn't happen we would be 11-1 right now playing in the SECCG. We'd be very outmatched vs Bama without Murray and our weak defense but to think about all of the outcomes that COULD have been if Gurley hadn't of gotten hurt it's just nuts. Roller coaster season for sure.

And considering the quality of opponents we have played, we could potentially still be in talk for a MNC if we beat Bama/Aub in the SECCG.

Crazy how things out of our control can potentially affect the entire season.

Doesn't help that the things in our control(defense and ST) put us in a hole where such an injury really does make all the difference in the world, though.

Exactly. Majority of injuries happened on the offensive side of the ball and that was our only hope. Ready to watch Mason get us a W in the bowl game and move on to next year.
