Channel surfing and stopped long enough to hear him state that neither Mizzou nor Auburn are the best team in the SEC. He stated that Bama and LSU are the 1st and 2nd best teams in the league.

A person could intelligently argue for Bama as one of the top 2, but LSU? Seriously? With 3 losses?

I'm not posting from a "homer" perspective because I think a case could be made for Mizzou as number 3. But LSU, with 3 losses, is definitely nowhere close to the top of the pecking order this season.

I have no idea how some of these sports "journalists" keep their jobs with such shoddy research, uninformed predictions and asinine arguments.

No wonder the rankings are so freaking screwy.

They should have asked him about his credit card. Would have been a better topic.

At their peak LSU is probably as good as any team in the country but that shite doesn't matter when you come up short in the games that actually matter.

MU especially is getting sold short by people around the country because people just aren't used to the MU name brand in football. Auburn was terrible last year but their name recognition was still strong because of the 2010 championship run.

It isn't fair. It obviously isn't objective, but it is what a lot of people regularly do when it comes to football.

I mean if LSU gets Missouri in Death Valley on Saturday night I like our chances. But none the less we fricked up and that's the way it is.

Cowherd was pretty spot on with his pre-season statements about us.

Pretty much my take on it also. I am in severe lust with Allie so watch Lead Off regularly. Gottlieb just puts the most ridiculous shite out on the reg. He is more of a basketball guys and still figures out a way to frack that up.

Cowherd usually is calm. He's too stupid to realize what he says is absolutely ridiculous most of the time. If you meant by "level headed" that he actually sounded logical for once, I have to grudgingly agree. I wonder whose notes he was reading because I doubt his were that intelligent. To foil that, Herbstreit is being a ridiculous homer.

Again, my original post was not an attempt to flame LSU. I was just struck by Gottlieb's lunacy. Good gravy, an average college football fan is more informed.

He is just a basketball guy who loved Big 12 basketball and got extremely butt hurt when A&M and Missouri left. The dude went postal when we gave the conference/Longhorns the finger and walked

It's possible that LSU beats Mizzou head to head. However, records represent achievement. Trophies shouldn't be awarded on the basis of potential and possibility.

Mizzou, Auburn and Alabama have one loss. It's reasonable to argue that two of those teams are better than another. It's unreasonable to state that any of the three is the FOURTH best team in the conference.
