Hang around their fans for some time and you will understand better. While they do have the occasional decent fan they are too few and far between to help the overall impression. They are insecure about not being an original B1G school, have to rely on their post WW II wins, and they were a party school far longer than their academic counterparts in the B1G.
Think of how insecure you have to be to refer to yourself as "the Ohio State University".
You almost feel sorry for them until they open their mouth.
My guess is there will be all kinds of Sparty fans this weekend.
