I haven't read all 19 pages, so maybe this has already been posted, but this article makes it sound like Sumlin wanted the job bad, but USC was not in love with him.

Been addressed Ad Nauseam. They deny their "info" is just aggy bs from their a&m only board. They also believe in many conspiracy theories fwiw. USC has said nothing about Sumlin being offered or even being the prime candidate, but somehow A&M people know EXACTLY what happened, and USC side has no idea even though they were the ones holding the GD coaching search.

National news services reported that Sumlin was USC's number one target. Do you think we made that up?

Because it an empirical fact that multiple reputable journalists reported that Sumlin was USC's first choice, some reported that they offered him the job, and Jim Rome even said that they wanted him, but never really had a chance. Why do you think that everybody on the rant was posting about how A&M was screwed because Sumlin was gone? The news was all over the place. Where have been?

OK, here is how things work mi muchacho.

National Power U wants coach of Big State Regional. NPU talks to his agent. Agent then talks to BSR to gauge their will to keep coach. A back and forth ensues.

Each school has insiders who leak info to the press. NPU b/c they can't fathom being turned down and think its a done deal and BSR b/c they have big swinging dick syndrome and a fat wallet burning a hole in their pocket.

Agent smiles as bidding war ramps up.

Big State Regional decides if they want to play with the big boys they need to pay like it. They make an offer high enough to fend off all comers.

National Power U can't go as high and begins leaking to the press they never really wanted the coach in an effort to save face. This kicks into overdrive when the coach they do get leaves the dissatisfied fanbase nonplussed.

I love how you ignore the crippling impeachment of your shitty source and the fact that Schefter said last night that USC only turned to Sark after Sumlin was out of play.

The LA Times corroborates.
quote:

USC Athletic Director Pat Haden eventually zeroed in on Texas A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin, the source said, but Haden could not meet with him until after the Aggies’ regular season was complete.

LA Times
No one is hiring Steve Sarkisian over Kevin Sumlin.

USC wanted Sumlin, they made it known to his reps. He used their interest as leverage for a raise. In the end he declined the opportunity to even interview at USC. In other (very clear) words, he chose TAMU over USC.

And dipshit, of course USC isn't publicly announcing how it lost Sumlin. Why are you so retarded?
