You could see it on Russell's face last night how badly he wanted to be playing. I can't imagine he was happy with losing most of this season either, but the square peg/round hole thing has been pretty obvious for a while now. I hate to say it, but his future prospects would have likely been a lot better had he gone to Bama.

And Perk was at his prime when Ballard was still here. He was a nice change-of-pace back but just couldn't cut the mustard as an every-down guy in the SEC. He was able to put on the muscle, but his running style is just not conducive with breaking tackles. He was like 12 carries for 6 yards last night I think. He went down on first contact every time. For his sake I hope he's able to land in a practice squad somewhere and get back to his old self.

It's hard not to feel bad for them but y'all are obviously much better off without them.

The Auburn and OSU games would have been very different with Robinson and Dak full time.

And we will still probably lose our bowl game because of perkins' tip toe no gains. I feel for both of them but i can barely stand to watch us play when perkins is in. It reminds me of watching stansbury basketball. If Dan wants to have a winning season, he has to use those big balls from last night and sit perkins' weak arse on the pine. It sucks but it's the truth and i hate it.

It sucks..but it's just a part of the game. To Russell's credit he could have been an a-hole and said shite on twitter, but he didn't. We could definitely put Perkins out there as a receiver for the bowl game.

On one if his 1st carries Perk literally walked right into their line. It was pathetic.

Russell gave us his best. He's a major talent that was used wrong. He played injured against Ark and gave us another reason to win vs UM. No need in really going over that again...

Ditto for Whitley. Scheduled for surgery this monday, but elected to put if off because it meant not playing vs UM.

Perk... Used wrong. Even was issued the wrong shoes!

I wish both of them had gone out the way Whitley did. He's had his ups and downs this season, but he was without a doubt a game-changer last night.

I don't like all the receiver talk I see about Perkins on message boards. Just because he is ok catching the ball out of the backfield doesn't mean he is a good receiver. Actually he wouldn't be a good receiver. He would have a hard time getting open. JMO of course.

I'm not so sure. He would have had to beat out AJ, and could have possibly sat his whole college career on the bench at Bama. He maybe could have gone to a non SEC school that ran a pro style offense. Who knows.

Perk should be a slot WR. Russell will make an NFL team as a backup. More of his style of offense being played in the NFL

I've never been real high on AJ considering the glut of talent that surrounds him. I think Tyler could have absolutely challenged him for the starting job and won it.

When you have the kind of RBs and OL Bama has had, passing a football becomes much easier.

Perkins scored a td in the Arkansas game. We wouldn't have won that game without his contribution, or Tyler's. Tyler is one of the most accurate passers in college football, and he should workout for someone at the next level. Perkins had over 4000 all purpose yards at State. Tyler broke passing records. Barring Tyler's injuries, we got the most out of both players during their tenure.

I feel like a lot of you are forgetting how many screen perk dropped on thursday, and the entire season for that matter. He didn't have the worst hands of an RB, but he didn't have the best either. He wouldn't have made it at the slot.

Everybody is blood drunk thinking about those screens in 2010 - 2011 that Perkins would go yard with.. He's dropped a few good passes this year, with the one Thurs that you speak of on third down I think..

I just don't understand why people say this. I think Perkins would be a terrible slot. I know he would be.
