Until the 20th Century there were nine tiger subspecies that probably numbered over 100,000 animals. They included the giant 660-pound, or
300 kilo, Siberian (Pantera tigris altaica) and Caspian (Pantera tigris virgata; now extinct) tigers as well as the relatively small—and now also extinct—200-pound (90 kilo) Balinese tiger. Depending on whether there are any remaining South China tigers—nobody has seen one in years—there are either 5 or 6 tiger subspecies remaining in existence; all are endangered. All tiger subspecies put together currently amount to around 3,200 endangered tigers remaining in the wild.
Tigers' impending doom

Contrast this bleak existence to the world domination of sus scrofa (wild boar).

***Please note that all of Louisiana is Hog country.

Tigers was the name of a Civil War regiment from Louisiana. Hence the LSU mascot.

Your argument is invalid.

Same is true for Missouri, but the regiment was yankee. They protected Columbia from Confederate guerilla's.

We should stop helping today's dodo bird. If you can't make it in the real world naturally, your species deserves to die out.

"Louisiana Tigers" pre-dates the Civil War by about 40 years:

LSU’s snarling tiger can be linked to yet another famous Confederate unit, the Washington Artillery of New Orleans, now the 141st Field Artillery stationed at Jackson Barracks. This artillery unit traces its history back to the 1830s, and uses a logo that features a snarling tiger's head. The tiger was attached to that unit in 1857 by its commander, James Burgess Walton.

Their insignia:

It is really shitty that we as humans have all but wiped out a entire species of such a beautiful creature.
