He is delusional and thinks Urban did not quit because the team was going to suffer. He thinks he left an awesome team and Muschamp cant coach.

I feel it is know Urban quit on his school when he realized he was going to have a couple rebuilding years and couldn't take it like other coaches do.

What can I tell this fricker about the team left behind.

I thought Alabama caused him too much emotional stress that he ended up in the hospital?

Pretty sure one of the last classes Urban recruited was supposed to be the best recruiting class ever. Or something like that. I think he saw the writing on the wall having to compete against Saban every year.

Meyer left behind a good team. Truth of the matter is he was sick of the SEC (specifically on the recruiting trail) and not Fla in particular. His subpar last year took a toll on him but how much nobody knows but him. He was very butthurt over seeing Cam turn into a superstar as well.

Don't know what Urban left the gators, but he left because he couldn't dominate the conference like he can the big whatever.

Fear and cowardice. That's what drove him to Columbus.

I feel like even with good classes he saw on the field it wasn't coming together. So he quit rather than lose.

Urban's last year was obviously his worst year so I don't think you can argue Boom has been a step down from that. Florida did have a really good recruiting class in 2010 but it was sick RE: defensive talent rather than extremely balanced.

I'm guessing some of the Florida fans will have strong opinions on the subject

and Auburn and LSU and GA and SC etc.. He knew he had a team that could lose alot. Not just to Bama.

I really think Saban being in direct competition had something to do with it. Maybe not all of it, but I think it played a part in his decision.

Urban built so much of his team around Tebow that he had stopped even trying to build his "spread option" concept.

Yep. Saban is a maniac, the Urb knew he couldn't match that.

That and the rest of the teams in the SEC are pretty relentless as well. Georgia was (and continues) to snake top talent out of Florida that Urban wanted - Aaron Murray being one of the better examples.

Plus FSU and Miami as in-state death rivals - all of that adds up to stress panic and fake heart attacks.

Heeellllooo Columbus! Easy conference, no in-state rivals, and Urb is back in business.

Cowardice sent him to Ohio. Period.

Not a Gator but live in the heart of their breeding grounds. meyer left them with a track team that was masquerading as a football team. His QB recruits, while highly rated, were not good. He had a bunch of small RB's and WR's. If the cupboard wasn't bare, it sure wasn't far from it.

Well.....the SOB didn't leave Tebow for Muschamp to have qb his team. If he had...Boom would have waited to implement something other than a spread offense.

In all seriousness...Urban did recruit some great classes but had fallen short with OL and we suffered because three straight years we had only TWO OL signed each year from high school...that's a recipe for disaster. Boom got Tyler Moore from Nebraska and Max Garcia from Maryland to transfer to UF after being previous starters at those schools...otherwise we would be 1-9 or 2-8 right now.

Boom inherited a weak team that didn't have the tough nose football instincts that SEC football is all about...in ONE year he transformed the defense into the countrys best, won SEC Coach of the Year and we went to BCS bowl. He is working on the offense but everybody who knows anything about football knows that defense is where you start first in rebuilding a team and recruiting showed that. Last year we went out and got a lot more offensive talent and next year we will be loaded friends...we have very few seniors. We will have depth except OL for the most part...hopefully we can get a JUCO talent like Trenton Brown last year to come on board...we will have six very good OL with starting experience and just need grown men who are shaving everyday to provide help.

Urban hates stress, thus competition. I don't think he has played one top 15 team since he's been in Columbus. It's the perfect fit.
