Trying to get an idea of what my fellow Gator fans feel is our biggest need to still recruit for this upcoming year.
I know one thing we need a kicker. Both of ours are terrible.
I think QB and OL are the biggest needs though. I hope all the talk of firing our coaching staff doesnt scare off any recruits especially Grier.

You can't just use a spot in a class 2 straight years for kickers.

Hold a tryout on campus or get someone from the soccer team.

Forgot to answer the thread question:

Its QB.

Hopefully Grier is everything that people say he is.

Art Briles will salvage Jeff Driskel's career and turn him into a mid-round pick.

I rang the bell for several years on the paysite at Gator Country sounding the alarm that we needed OL and we needed them badly. Three straight years recruiting on TWO OL in a row doomed us and that's mostly on Meyer.

We did get some numbers and a JUCO this past year and we need a lot more. JUCO shopping for OL & DL is imperative for depth...but the shopping aisles will be crowded again this year...UGA has frequent shopping discounts and Bama, UT , A&M, Ole Miss are just some of the ones we will bump into and some of them have very unique layaway plans. We need linemen that are already shaving everyday.

GatorsGators....you remind me of a parrot that hears something or sees that Baylor is doing well...so by God! Briles will bring us all kind of hardware...I have to laugh.

Have you research your Messiah? I don't think so. Heres his HEAD COACHING record for your review:

He was head coach at the high school level and successful...but that doesn't bode well in SEC wars.

HC at Houston (no...not Texans) and here are the results:

2003 7-7 losing their bowl game
2004 3-8
2005 6-7 losing their bowl game (right now you would be screaming for his head)
2006 10-5 losing their bowl game
2007 8-4 leaing before bowl game for Baylor job

Baylor

2008 4-8
2009 4-8
2010 7-7 losing their bowl game (by now hes gone?)

Baylor lost 5 games in 2012 and 3 games in 2011

Just so you know who you want or thought you wanted as HC. Please don't throw stuff out if you don't do a little tiny fraction of homework. Thanks.

It's Baylor. It's Houston.

James Franklin is a hot commodity as well, and his best record as a head coach is 9-4.

If Briles or Franklin went 7-5 every season at UF, yeah, that'd be unacceptable. The situations aren't even remotely comparable.

UF has built-in advantages that most schools don't have. Baylor has a shite program, and the fact that Briles is currently undefeated and dominating his conference is impressive, considering he's at Baylor. He'd do a great job at UF imo. The bigger question is if he'd leave the state of Texas.

OL, and they've fricked up in recruiting them the past few years. It's not just Urban, Muschamp could've recruited more too-especially with the style of play he wants.

You cant have it both ways my reptile friend. Baylor and Houston both play in weaker conferences than the SEC...even with less material how does Briles go 4-8, then 4-8 again and then 7-7 from 2008-2010? he would have been fired for better record at UF. And of course at Houston he had 7-6, 3-8 and 6-7 record in a row.

Be careful what you wish for.

How are you going to spin this loss into a positive for us this week?

Whatever I do....its beter than kneejerk...get the pitchforks & torches out so we can storm the castle to get our pound of flesh.

College football has been a shell of what it was when I first become a Gator in 1962, no one has an ounce of patience, its the what have you done for me lately symdrone. In 2009 we undefeated and message boards were full of unpappy Gators...why? Because we didn't win pretty enough or throw enough or cover spreads on the Vegas lines.

Positives you ask? I can see true frosh wrs starting to develop and they will soon bare fruit as the speed of the game slows down. I see a lot of players sitting out mending injuries who will help us win a lot of games in 2014. I see a team with few seniors that will return a lot of players to go along with a lot of true frosh who redshirted....so I can smile when I think of whats ahead.
