I think they were over the top. It is not 100% this kids fault. He is a student athlete. This kind of disrespect towards a student athlete, from our own fans is not right. Thats my rant. Would be interested to hear other people's thoughts on this

They're bad.

Also, I am opposed to kicking puppies. And the dengue fever. And people who put the toilet paper under, not over.

1 is unacceptable but he received 20x's as many positive tweets. Take a look at the thread below. Baggett handled it well and even thanked Mizzou nation for all the support. I think a writer decided to take a few bad apples and make it sound a lot worse than it was. Though, like I said, even 1 is bad enough.

I agree. But when somebody tells the kid to kill himself, that's bad. I understand he recieved a bunch of positive tweets and that is awesome. I understand it is social media, but to tell someone to kill themselves is very unacceptable. I seen an article where some of the guys from Jackass tweeted at him.

Tweeted support to him. Preston is from Carthage Missouri. You're right. It's sick that someone would tweet anything negative to a kid period. But the articles also didn't give the full picture, only half of it. It's absolutely unacceptable though. Don't think you'll get any argument from anyone about that.

It is what it is. People are morons, and this has always happened. It's part of the deal. You get free education and lodging and such, and there's a chance you eat shite on.

There are two options: accept that it happened and move on or ignore it.

False outrage and declaring how unacceptable it is doesnt do much but prolong the story.

I would bet most of us think/say things in the heat of the moment that we wouldn't share with the world. People just have the opportunity to broadcast those words via social media now. Not much we can do about it.

quit bringing attention to these idiots ripping Baggett. Bring attention to the 20x more tweets he got that were encouraging and supportive.

It's just like the tweets James Franklin received last year. And yes - social media gives people an anonymous way to say outrageous, nasty, mean things they'd never say to someone's face. They should be ashamed, but they won't - because it's largely anonymous. I'm very glad the kid received so many positive ones, hope he can hold onto that.

It is a crazy world out there. I don't tweet, twitter or Facebook.

It can only open the door to unwanted messages.
