Ever notice that the only people who can see ghosts or have super natural experiences are the people who believed in that stuff in the first place? The rational people can always find a natural, plausible explanation for everything.
Also, ghost stories love to start off where someone is asleep in the middle of the night. Don't forget this is when you're the most vulnerable for your brain to play tricks on you, let alone half asleep and half awake…

Ghosts can read our minds and only appear to the true believers.

Actually not true...I used to not believe in ghosts. I had a weird encounter while going to this supposed haunted place with a friend who did believe in them. I called bullshite and I'll be damned if he didn't make me believe.
I was in this old abandoned house and swear to God a door slammed shut in my face and I felt someone grab my arm out of thin air...nobody was there. Didn't see any actual "ghost" but I sure damn felt it. That was the most scared i've ever been in my life

Rational people can become irrational reaching for plausibility as well. Just because you can talk yourself down, doesn't mean it's probable.
What's the point of an attempted applyication of knowledge when it's still wrong? You make look or sound more intelligent compared to someone claiming ghosts, but there's never gonna be a plausible truth to everything. It's like showing your work for a math problem, but still getting it wrong.
I've never been afraid to say I've had paranormal experiences, and don't think I haven't spent time trying to comprehend what really happened. Sometimes you just can't. I'm not Von Braun or anything, but I consider myself smarter than the average beat.
If that makes me "unintelligent" to someone, glad I could help fill your judgmental quota for the day. I hope you feel better about yourself...

I don't know if I necessarily believe in ghosts, but I believe 100% in the paranormal in some capacity. I didn't used to until a few years ago. Was living in a house that had a few crazy things happen. The one that really convinced me happened at 9 AM.
