Tomorrow is probably the biggest game in recent memory for Mizzou. This isn't knocking off #1 and trying to earn respect. This is to basically win the SEC East in our second year and not try to earn respect, but demand it.
I'm nervous as frick as a fan. I expect to win, which is an unusual position to take as a Mizzou fan, but I'm really expecting it. I sit here and fret with my stupid superstitious brain whether I'm fricking something up being confident, and yet I think we'll win.
I haven't felt like this since I was watching Mizzou games in my
parent's basement not knowing the curse of Mizzou fandom.
It feels great.

I know how you feel. Hard to let yourself believe we really could be that good this year, especially after last year's fiasco.

To be honest with ya, if we win tomorrow, we have the SEC East pretty much wrapped up. I won't give a shite if the media, the Rant, or the SEC shows us respect. We kicked arse against anyone that put on front of us, regardless. So all I can say to them is..

The anticipation is brutal!!

Can't wait for tomorrow, tomorrow night we lock up the East, and win by more against the cocks than we did against the Gators.
My prediction: The defensive line has another huge game living in the back field, and the atmosphere of the Zou will be too much for USCe
Mizzou wins
38-17

I like it. I'm with ya. If there ever was a time to throw away the cup, tomorrow is it.

I do too. But I am very nervous about this game. If the team is even a little unfocused, or paying attention to their media hype, South Carolina can easily thump us.
In no way do I want to be a Debbie Downer, nor do I want to rain on the exuberance of our younger fans. But this season, while magical, is no where close to over. We could easily lose tomorrow, or to Tennessee, or to Ole Miss, or to A&M. I hope the team, at least, can stay humble yet confident, and focused yet hungry. If we stub out toe tomorrow and drop this game? The air could all go out, and our lives on this board will not be fun next week.
Best of luck to the team, hope they kick arse. M I Z!

Win lose -- I can live with the results as long as we play clean, with heart, and a full 60 minutes. But I could not tolerate the Rant if we lost and broke our string of forced turnovers.
God, keep our boys safe. But if some blood must be spilt, remember there is nothing more annoying than a crowing cock. And chicken tastes good.
Amen.

I'm with you panzer. I just want to see what our boys can do if they play a full four quarters to the best of their ability and see where the chips fall. But if we happen to lose the rant will be completely intolerable.

I don't know what to think about this game. I haven't seen much of South Carolina. I do know this about them, they are inconsistent for the most part. Who knows what team is going to show up for them. Hope it is the team that played UK and not the team that played Arkansas. I hope the Zou comes out and plays great football and I know that place will popping. Hopefully the Zou gets the W. Great streak we have going and want to see it continue.

Agreed. Nervous because I'm not secure with our interior run defense. And because Mauk slings like Brett Favre.
Confident because of the focused maturity of this team and our O and D-Line prowess.
There's NO chance this team does anything resembling a choke. They could get exposed or suffer the growing pains of youth, but a full blown choke isn't happening.
In my mind, the purge of David Yost has changed everything. Henson has brought balance, extending drives, keeping the defense fresh. We're far less predictable and the mojo is off the charts.
Part of the nervousness is still not knowing what we have. Or more accurately, what we may not have. This week should provide the answers.
Damn... I'm watching the condensed version of the MU-UF game and for a little guy, Maty Mauk has a Howitzer!! Accurate, too. He's got a chance to be the best we've had since Chaser.
Bottom line, if Missouri has an answer to neutralize Clowney we're winning.

Bottom line is if our run D shows up like it has all season so far we will win this game. Clowney is what he is but he won't decide anything. USCe has really not played good this year. Aside from Arkansas but everyone plays good against them. They almost let vandy and Kentucky beat them and we all know what happened inTN. I see this game getting ugly late for sc and we jump tOSU into #4 next week.

Clowney has been disruptive in the run game.
But I agree - run defense will be the pivot point tonight.

Having that number 5 next to our name might be all the inspiration USC needs to play their best game of the century.
