There shouldn't be a coaches poll. Coaches don't have time to watch football games unless it's future opponents. ADs or someone probably cast these votes and these polls just don't mean that much. How many SEC coaches with votes watched a complete Arizona State game? How many PAC Ten coaches watched the barn beat JFF?
I can't stand the barn, but they are looking very good. They always had talent, the coaching staff just lost control of the team. They are having to pay this year for the sins of last year. Seems fair to me.

UGA is the best team in the SEC. I've read that here.

Auburn ranked below A&M is an absolute joke.

The total lack of defense, the nonstop trashtalk by our QB who was even warned by the ref, and the blatant holding the whole game. Auburn won the game!!

Are you trying out for LSU fandom? Nice whine, good luck.

I'll be surprised if Devante Harris starts next season. 175 lb corners who can't tackle don't succeed in this conference.

When Lane Kiffin got caught lying about his poll, I remember reading an article about how the staffs just put these together. I doubt any of these coaches sit down and fill out a list of 25 teams.

I'd be surprised to see a lot of your guys on defense playing next year.

Best case scenario:
Obioha moves back to SDE where he belongs
Myles Garrett starts at rush end
Justin Manning and Isaiah Golden start at DT
A.J. Hilliard (transfer from TCU), Darian Claiborne, and Shaan Washington start at LB
Dylan Sumner-Gardner and Deshazor Everett start at CB
Kameron Miles and Armani Watts start at S
That would mean that Alonzo Williams, Gavin Stansbury, Devante Harris, and Howard Matthews all lose their starting jobs. Underperforming seniors Tramaine Jacobs and Steven Jenkins already leave, and we won't need to go to a nickel, which is where Toney Hurd starts.

You'll see most of the front seven, unless an incoming freshman or a redshirt unseats them.

Sorry but that is turrible
Yeah, Miami has no business being in the top ten.

While it is a lot to ask for a guy to come in and be a difference maker day 1, he is a highly rated guy so you hope he can, and this is the center piece for a successful defense. In today's game, the pass rush is the most important player on defense, and if you have a difference maker at that position, you can compensate for almost every other weakness you have.

Why do you think Auburn is ranked behind A&M in the coaches poll? It is because coaches actually watch games and saw that Auburn walked away with a win they didn't deserve.
