Can Mizzou Still Win the SEC East with a Back-up QB

I will say right off the bat I am a die hard Mizzou fan, and even I find this is going to be tough for Mizzou; however I do think there is a way.
First off Mizzou must beat Florida otherwise all bets are off.
Not much chance Mizzou beats South Carolina so let's put that down as a loss.
Mizzou should be able to beat Tennessee at home and Kentucky on the road, if they can't they aren't in this conversation any way.
At this point they are scheduled to get Franklin back.
Their next game is against Ole Miss at Oxford. With Franklin this is a winnable game.
Their last game is against A&M. I guarantee Mizzou thinks they can win this game as they have beaten A&M 2 of the last 3 years, both at College Station. I know they got blown out last year but that was a beaten up and beaten down team. Actually I think Mizzou has the perfect defense to beat A&M. They aren't going to stop Manziel, if Bama can't do it Mizzou sure isn't. However the Mizzou defense is opportunistic and causes a lot of turnovers. If they can force a few interceptions or fumbles, Franklin and company can win a shoot-out.
For this scenario to work Mizzou would need some help by someone else beating USC.
Not sure the odds on this scenario without seeing how Mauk perform, but it is the one way forward I can see Mizzou winning the East.

oh yes, I definitely think they have a chance even with Franklin out.

You couldn't win the SECe with your starting quarterback.

I like your optimism, but it is too far out for me to consider.
One game at a time and Gatorrs are next!

FWIW I don't think you'd win it with Franklin healthy.

I wonder about that since it's:

Look, Mizzou's offense is high powered and healthy. No one disputes that now.
Franklin is a big loss...BUT...
If our backup QBs (whomever they may be from day to day) can put the ball into the receivers and backs hands, we still have a hi powered offense.
Also, the new QB cannot turnover the ball more than 3 times. Mizzou's high scoring offense can handle no more than 3 turnovers with ease. If the turnovers are out of control, we lose.
We still have the high powered offense, people. I feel good about this game...

Kills - I like you ... but one game at a time brother...I think Franklin is a huge loss...people say how A&M will suck without Manziel...I think Franklin is a stud as well.

Franklin being hurt is just a publicity stunt. Just before the game starts he is going to run out on to the field in uniform ready to play. The crowd will go crazy and the players will be pumped!

Is he/she an alter? I don't know. I would say you make good points about the pronoun usage.....except I have also seen posters criticized for using the personal possessive pronouns of "we, my and our." Comments like, "Really, you are on the team?"

Without a doubt Franklin is a huge loss. But don't forget that Mauk challenged Franklin in the Spring and nearly won the job! He's a freshman who set national passing records in high school.
Not to mention that when he came into the Georgia game in the 4th Q after Franklin injured his shoulder, he led the team to 13 straight points (our dumbass shitty kicker is the reason it's not 14) after a scoreless 3rd Q where Franklin couldn't execute for some reason.
There's that.

I don't think your defense is good neigh to stop manziel and co. The reason I say this is because UGA put up 28 pts with 3rd and 4th string running backs, and three of their top receivers out. Hell, UGA had to start a reciever that wAs on the scout team the previous week. I am sure it would have been a different outcome if everyone on UGA offense was healthy. We were also missing one of our starting db's due to injury....not that our secondary is good, but.....well you see what I'm getting at. Anyway, a&m's offense, will score on your defense pretty regularly. I think it will be a high scoring game, but manziel is the difference

I was really hoping someone would give their opinion on this subject

I am feeling good about this year, but if we finish 9-3, we will have overachieved. And no way you win the east at 5-3. Now, win against UF and I'll reevaluate.
