I think he's trying to say we're well aware that Saban did wonders for the program
but I can think of a half dozen coaches who could go 48-16 with LSUs in state talent
just saying
anyway, off to work

Like anyone would expect class from LSU...
Invited to return, pssh. He is kinda busy, winning. Try it sometime, Tigahs.

You didn't like Spurrier?
No, not in the 90's I didn't.

He's awesome.
Well, YEAH, he is NOW.
...now that he's not at a powerhouse and LSU doesn't have to play him every year anymore.
See how that works? It's not complicated, and it doesn't really have anything to do with Bama outside of the fact that LSU has to play them every year.
So don't take it so personally.

What's the issue here?

Bama fans have a tendency to worship coaches and put them above the program so I can understand their confusion.
The funny thing is when they get their panties all bunched up when fans of other teams don't worship the Tide's head coach.

I don't know about that. What happened in the 90s? Did all of the sudden great talent appeared in Louisiana post 1999? LSU was never as consistent as it is now post 2000. (90s,80s,70s, 60s was sporatic).

When you only have one thing, this kind of stuff happens. Sure, the Alabama grads might have a job and families, but as we learned last week, the vast majority of their supporters are the ingrate sidewalk fans who have nothing but Bama football and the cruel fate living in the state of Alabama dealt them. So they erect their idols and poison tress and call radio shows.

Curly, then Dinardo won a bunch of games before both coordinators were hired away and we struggled in '98 and '99. He refused to fire his guys so he got fired. Saban came in and was the beneficiary of that revival. Saban put together one of the all-time great staffs here and we started winning again. '99 was seen as an abberation, and LSU continued on its upward trend.

It's ok they'll get to see him raise another Crystal Football on their personal stadium video screens this January.

I wouldn't show it either. If there are recruits in attendance at the game that would probably just help steer more targets towards Bama.
Stupid comment. It likely would have ended up with fans booing just because it is Saban, which is something that isn't necessary when honoring the entire team that won that championship. It would have been an embarrassment for the school and the players who played in that game. It has noting to do with targeting recruits.

Just bow to your master and DWI. In the long run this is gonna best on your fanbase, mentally.

Hmmm, you sound scared.
I seem to remember LSU winning the last time they attended a funeral in that mausoleum y'all call Brian Dennehy.

I always wonder what his connection to the school was to get such a great honor. He was terrific as Robert Montgomery Knight in Season on the Brink.
