I think those days are behind us. We have the ability to score easily in the post now. That form of offense is WAY more suitable for winning on the road. Anything less than 21-23 wins is a disappointment for me this year.

I've heard Kingsley and Portis can make FTs, the rest of the team has improved in this area as well, but its just practice.

FTs, getting to line, making them, keeping the other team off the line is the secret to winning on the road.

That could be said for winning games period. But there's no doubt that having a reliable scoring option in the post is key for winning on the road. We were monsters at home last year and Mizzou still nearly beat us because of their post threat that we just couldn't stop. Their shooters were bad. Their paint scoring is what kept it from being a blowout.

When I look at this team, I see an actual team. We have people that are playing the right positions at every position. No more makeshift lineups like Powell at the 4. We have a scoring option in the post in Portis, a defensive big man in Kingsley, we have senior leadership, quick cutters, 3 point shooters, and vocal court leaders. It's just a gut feeling, but I think the puzzle pieces are there. Whether they can be put together in one year will be the key to the season.
