Horse Collar Tackle
9-1-15
All players are prohibited from grabbing the inside back collar of the shoulder pads or jersey, or the inside collar of the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, and immediately pulling the ball carrier down. This does not apply to a ball carrier, including a potential passer, who is inside the tackle box (Rule 2-34). Note that the tackle box disintegrates when the ball leaves it.

Just because he grabbed his arm after he grabbed him by the collar and immediately started dragging him down, it doesn't make it a no-call. Even if he did it simultaneously, or even before... it doesn't magically not make it a horse collar. You are spending too much time around gumps, I guess.

He has a pretty sturdy insurance policy in case of injury and his family is filthy rich. Also he has already secured his spot as one of the best players in CFB history. I dont think there is anything including the chance of injury that would make him give anything less than 100% while he is on the field.
Cool. Then the "JFF was hurt" people can GFT

Read the written rule. It was not a horse collar.
The key element was that Jff didn't go down in a jerking manner. It was a good tackle and I rest my case.

"Horse-Collar" Tackle (Rule 9-1-2-p). With this new rule, the committee addresses the potential hazard to a ball carrier that is grabbed by the inside collar of the jersey or shoulder pad and quickly jerked down. The rule prohibits all players from grabbing the inside back collar of the shoulder pads or jersey, or the inside collar of the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, and immediately pulling the runner down. This does not apply to a runner who is inside the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket. A key element is the immediacy of the runner being pulled down, because of the risk of injury. The horse-collar tackle is a personal foul and the penalty is 15 yards.

I only tell the truth son.
I guarantee they didn't call that because he had pulled his arm as part of the tackle. Which is why it is still bothering you today, and will for the rest of your life...

Thanks for posting Sammie Coates demonstrating how to not get horse collared. Was thinking same thing.

The reason they didn't call it is because they didn't see it.

Doesn't bother me that Auburn won fair and square.

You are so precious this morning and after the game. Your bitterness brings me joy.

He did this and there is no denying it. The or in the rules separate each way the call can be made. Just because he only violated 1 part of the rule does not make it any less of a penalty.

Y'all won, no one is trying to take that away from you. But if the game was called correctly, you would have lost. That is just the way it is.

Lol. Auburn won fair and square. Why would I be bitter? It was a great game.

It was a good game. Sometimes you get lucky with the refs. Sometimes you get screwed. We lost to the refs, and Auburn got the win. Congrats.

The no call on the horse collar tackle. Where he jerks him down from behind. Here is a gif.

Yes because A&M was having such great success inside the red zone and we were struggling to get pressure. What would have happened is that Manziel would have been sacked on the next 2 plays and time would have expired.

That is cute. I like how you conveniently overlook all the help you received from the refs.
It was a great game
