Back in 1993, the SEC basketball tournament was in Lexington. Back when they had it at campus arenas.
Good post for the most part, but Rupp Arena isn't on campus at the University of Kentucky. It's actually adjacent to, and essentially in the same building as the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington and a goodly drive from UK's campus.

One night in this big open area of the hotel, they were having a hog-calling contest, and the winner's prize was an actual Razorback hog. They had it on display in a big cage in the lobby. Y'all should have seen the crowd of Arky fans. It was crazy. Some fat woman won the thing. I'm not sure what she was going to do with it, but she was beyond excited. It was then that I knew that Hogs fans were absolutely crazy, and I felt good about being from Alabama and not Arkansas.
Y'know, I think I recall having heard about that. Arky fans really do help the rest of us in the SEC feel normal sometimes, huh? (Wow! That was twenty years ago! Good memory! )

Tusk II died after the Liberty Bowl. He either froze to death, ate too many grapes, or died of shock after seeing Alex Tejada actually make a game winning field goal.

Tusk. Tastiest mascot in the SEC.
Are all wild boars called Razorbacks? Or just the ones native to the South?

By definition they're a semi-wild hog of the Southeast U.S., having a narrow body with a ridged back. Tusk is well fed.
If I remember correctly, they are native to Europe and Asia and were brought to this country by early explorers and settlers.
The original "Mike" of LSU fame came from the Little Rock zoo. He was only a year old when he arrived at LSU and he was great.

Tusk, but the greatest mascot was the one year stand in....Ragnar!
Ragnar, a wild hog captured in south Arkansas by Leola farmer Bill Robinson, killed a coyote, a 450-pound domestic pig, and seven rattlesnakes. Ragnar died in 1978 of unknown causes.

Big Red III was cool too.
Big Red III, for instance, escaped from an animal exhibit near Eureka Springs in the summer of 1977 and ravaged the countryside before an irate farmer gunned him down

So when will the Muslims that attend the school file a complaint because you have a swine for a mascot??
And I don't think it was inbreeding or line breeding that caused health issues with Ugas in the past. It probably the EB in general. Majority are walking vet bills just waiting to happen.
