It benefits us for them to win out before we play them....

But I just can't root for the swamp kitties

I can't do it

honestly, them winning out or losing out doesn't impact our season much. I understand we don't play UF so SOS is slightly better for us with a win but SOS really doesn't matter.

We're not going to find a way to get into the title game barring some pretty crazy happenings and if we win out, we're all but locked into the Sugar (we're easily the biggest draw in CFB at the moment if you look at tv ratings and it's by a pretty significant margin) so SOS is completely irrelevant. So we're better off LSU losing for recruiting purposes.

btw, an example on tv....

A&M-Ark on ESPN2 1.7 rating
UF-Ark on ESPN2 0.9 rating (one week later)

Highest rated game on any channel - A&M-Bama
Highest rated game on ESPN2 - A&M-Ark
Highest rated game on ESPNU - A&M-SMU

We don't own the ESPN number but we've only played Rice on ESPN so far which is still the 4th highest rated game this year despite the crap opponent. Be curious to see this week's comparison vs OM-Bama which was 2.4 on ESPN in the same time slot with OM ranked.

I agree with this. Nice to hear his take on recruiting from an LSU standpoint as well.

Absolutely better for A&M that LSU loses weekly. If LSU were to suddenly drop 3 or 4 games while we won (esp winning in BR) it would have huge recruiting implications. Our best shot at the SEC Title game is for Bama to be forced to forfeit their early games because of Ha Ha and that isn't happening. We lost that game so we have to just do all we can to win out and hope for the best.

A&M-OM got a 3.4 (same as LSU-UF on CBS)

If we get game day which we should if we both keep winning it might have a slim chance at the Bama-A&M ratings

Honestly, and this might be just me, I would rather them be undefeated when we beat them in BR.

And this isn't the old "give me your worst" tough guy act, but is based on brand management.

I want the Gulf War to completely outshine anything Texas or any other Big 12 team is doing next year. If they lose big to us, that cranks up the volume for next year on Thanksgiving. THEN

If the Thanksgiving game is a huge success it becomes a regular thing, maybe even in Reliant each year.

If it becomes a regular thing then it will be the premier game in the state.

If its the premium game in the state, we never lose another recruit to OU.

If we never lose another recruit to OU, then we become the FSU of Texas.

I want a top 15 program dammit.

think it's entirely possible. That's the great thing with late season games. The implications to the SEC, the Heisman race, and MNC become so huge. And I think the hype on it will start the second y'alls Bama game ended as we both have bye weeks

We're already losing one home game due to a game in an NFL stadium, let's quit with that bullshite.
