If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas.

So easing past LSU at home in a nail-biter suddenly makes Ga. the best team in the SEC. Suddenly I feel better about my Tigers.

Until Bama loses, they are the number 1 team in the SEC.

They have a loss where Alabama does not.
This statement is fricking idiotic
Oh really??? I think it looks right.
1. How much better did Alabama look against UGA in the SEC championship last year?
2. Who has played the harder schedule and looked better so far this year?
In UGA's 1 loss to Clemson it could be argued that they looked better than Alabama did in 1 or 2 of their wins this year.

Saban's record in championship games is 7-1. (3-1 SEC, 4-0 BCS).
Of the 7 wins about 5 were blowouts.
The 1 loss came with a completely undermanned and outgunned team, which somehow had the lead in the 4th quarter against a vastly superior team.
So yeah, good luck beating Saban in a title game.
UGA better pray LSU manages to make it to Atlanta, and even then I think LSU would win.

Why is there so much confidence in LSU beating UGA if we meet again? We lost Gurley after one quarter. If we meet again in the SEC Championship game, Gurley's most likely healthy by then. If he's in the game the entire time last Saturday, I believe we win by more than 3.

It won't be in Athens for one.
Secondly you gotta figure LSU will make some serious defensive adjustments in the meantime.
I mean I think it would be a super close game, just like last time.
It's clear either team could have won the last game and either team could win the next.

I agree it would be a close game. It just seems like most LSU fans (and some other fans)believe its a done deal if we meet again. The confidence just surprises me.

True, but the reality is that having Gurley for 4 quarters would be helpful.
Also, the reality is that our defense will also make adjustments and improve over the course of the year considering 13 underclassmen get significant PT

then the SEC sucks
I think you don't have a complete team like you've had in the past. I think the defense aren't as good in the past, and the offenses are much better. Other than maybe florida.
