Enough to win but still alot of work to do. I like the run defense.

The D Showed they are capable. Coaching, the play calling was a problem and needs to be fixed before we head to Gainesville.

Did not stay square with the los on that play. Overcommitted to the inside. Have to squeeze the end without giving up contain. He will learn from it hopefully.

i was encouraged. front seven came through. defensive backfield inexperienced and seemed lost at times.

also..some of those passes and catches by lsu were all-world or the game is not as close.

I agree. Gainesville is going to be tough, but I'm even more worried about our game in Locust Grove. That's going to be an arse-bleeder.

Better than expected......considering the fact that our defensive players are burdened with an overly-complex gimmick defensive scheme.

These are direct quotes I heard more than twice from the CBS booth......"Confusion Defensively"......"DISCOMBOBULATED on defense"......

And it was true. It's always been true for the last three years.

Bobo has a funny name and looks goofy. Grantham has a fiery personality and acts tough.........

One of these men makes almost twice as much as the other.

Which is downright thievery.

Run defense is getting better and better. Defensive line and linebackers starting to really emerge...some individual guys starting to look like future stars...

The remaining problem area is the secondary but this is not a surprise. It's what everyone knew would be a struggle for awhile when two true freshmen were named starters at beginning of the season and the entire two-deep of the seconday only has one seasoned veteran (Swann).

Of course after these four games, the young guys are getting plenty of seasoning...

I think Floyd has 3 or 4 sacks already...that total is going to go up as the level of competition goes down.

I actually thought he played the worst tonight. Not sure though, that Swain kid was pretty bad as well.

Bright spots are meaningless to me at this point. This was our 4th game of the year. We've played 2 top-10 teams coming in to this game and had a bye week and a cupcake game to prepare for LSU and we couldn't get them off the field.

They converted nearly 70% of their 3rd downs against us, including a few long ones. We looked confused often and couldn't stop their crossing routes which they used over and over and over again.

We really only had one key stop, and I think that was mostly due to the pressure of Mett needing to win the game on that last drive.

We had several sacks but not forced fumbles and no picks. Jenkins should have had one but he knocked it away, instead. We would get a nice sack and then give up a 20-yard pass on the next play to get back all those lost yards.

In the redzone, LSU was able to walk in untouched on the two running plays.

Yeah, we held them to hardly any rushing yards in the first half, but they ate us up in the 2nd, and we got torched through the air. Reminded me on the 2011 SECCG where we held them to zero first downs in the first half but still got killed in the second.

This victory rests 99% on our offense and special teams. The one stop at the end just sealed the deal. I think our defensive scheme is not working. Even with the youth we have, we should do better.

I'm hoping that these youngsters can step it up for the rest of the year. Yeah, it was a tough first month, but it should battle-harden them. If they don't do better going forward, I'll blame CTG.

he doesn´t trust them. Yet, when he got aggressive, they responded.

Go figure.

I think he´s not a good fit. I´ll eat my crow, I was over the moon when he was signed.

He had responsibility for a lot of Landry and Beckham...putting future NFL'ers on him...he's no Champ Bailey and with the other guys still learning, he's been in some tough situations.

Hopefully they all get better and better...

Very impressed with stopping a team that openly planned to run I down our throat. Hill had only 15 more yards than Gurley.

Concerned at how confused our secondary became when faced with different schemes. Also think we gave up too soon on the blitz. Mett scorched us on the first possession but hell...that comes with the territory. We should've sold out on those long third downs.

We knew we had to del with youth on D and that's turned out to be the case. I'll take the W.

Also think there's some screwy shite with Grantham's scheme and calls. It's college and these guys don't get to practice a fourth of what NFL guys do...maybe we need a solid, aggressive, 4-3 scheme that doesn't require these guys to think so much?

And I'm still recovering from that 3rd and 23. The place was rocking, you couldn't hear anything, that was the time to rush 5. Why did we have only 3 linemen in there and everybody dropping back? WTF?
