Why Johnny Manziel isn't a team captain

In case people can't figure it out:
Team captains in 2012 were SR WR Ryan Swope, SR OL Patrick Lewis, SR DL Spencer Nealy, and SR LB Sean Porter.
Team captains in 2013 are SR RB Ben Malena, SR OL Jake Matthews, and SR DB Toney Hurd.
Anyone figured out the common trend yet?

Manziel is a complete tool.
Y'all are lucky he has not been ruled ineligible by the NCAA (an organization that now has ZERO credibility based just on how they handled his situation - and NO, I do not want to re-hash this)

Actually, some ESPN folks made a big deal about the soph QB not being a captain and trying to imply a bunch of crap from it.
So the OP has a valid point, even if you don't care (even though you took the time to post on his thread about it).

While most captains are seniors, true leaders of the team are routinely voted on as captain, no matter the class rank.
