Pretty pathetic "fan" if basketball doesn't start for you until February and you regularly have a tournament team.

It's quite possible to pay attention to more than one sport at once.
I don't get why this concept is so hard for some people.

So what is Florida looking like this season? Walker won't start until January correct? I couldn't remember who you've lost/picked up.

That's the plan.
If Walker qualifies as planned and some currently suspended guys stay out of trouble, we'll be loaded.
Wilbekin / Hill
Frazier / Carter (Rutgers transfer) / Graham
Finney-Smith (VT transfer) / Prather / Devon Walker
Yeguete / Chris Walker
Young / Harris (USCe transfer)

LSU has a ton of talent, but we've seen extremely talented teams over the past few seasons have less success than what I'm predicting for LSU.
Mississippi State in 2011-12 was absolutely loaded. Not comparing Jones to Stans in any way, but talent doesn't always produce immediate results.

True. I have a little more faith in Jones to get them rolling though.
Twany Beckham had some interesting things to say about that State team in the book he released. Nothing direct but pretty much implied chaos.

Wilbekin (rumored to be for six games, but don't hold me to that), Finney-Smith (three games), Prather (three games), and Harris (three games).
Donovan has kept the reasoning top-secret.

Maybe I'm drinking the kool aid too much, but I really think the SEC gets more than 5 teams in this year. It's obviously way too early to predict, but I'm just seeing a lot of improvement across the board on paper. Now it just has to translate to on the court.

Who's going to score for them? BJ Young was a ball hog, but he was their only guard who could get his own shot.
Just keep on believing that. He was also a cancer who is now gone. Expect to see a different team this year.

I'm not sure what to expect this year. We have a short bench, but it looks like we played well in Europe over the summer. Either way, we will be much better next season.

Not happening unless we win 12 games or less. The transfers we've brought in and the class we are going to sign are too good for the administration to fire Grant.

Thanks Gators
It's going to hinge on a couple of things. First, SEC teams not named Kentucky and Florida (and I say this for the sake of national perception, not that they're the only good teams) at this point are going to have to make a good showing in their OOC games in order to erase any kind of negative perception of the conference. It'd also be beneficial for some of those former Big East teams to stub their toes in their first year in the ACC. The dissolution of the Big East (and their automatic 50 billion fricking bids no matter the quality of the conference from top to bottom) is probably the best thing to happen in order for the SEC to try to gain some bids.
Going to have to earn it outside of conference play though. I don't think that it happens this year with the youth coming in, more than likely the next. I'd like to see it happen ASAP though.

Did I say something that wasn't true?
Which guards, other than Young, did/does Arkansas have that are capable of creating their own shot? Madden is capable but is timid. Scott can create his own shot but is an out-of-control mess. Bell is purely a spot-up shooter. Wade regressed badly last season.

We will be better than last season and still finish in the bottom 2 or 3. On the bright side I won't have to watch Chubb dribble of his feet any more and we are bringing in Ludacris for the Jungle Jam aka Midnight Madness.
Ludacris ? @Ludacris
Can’t wait to get down to Auburn on Oct.4th and play at the Jungle Jam. Follow @CoachTonyBarbee for more details. #TurnUp

Absolutely agree Belle. For whatever reason, I just have a feeling there is too much improvement across the board for more teams to do well OOC. Even if Mizzou stumbles, there's 6 other teams there improving. Speaking of Mizzou, as I see it, toughest OOC games may be UCLA but it's at home, the Illinois game because you just never know with that game and NC State because it's on the road and I wasn't impressed with how we played on the road. In conference, we got lucky and play UK and UF only once this year. The other teams are solid but I'll take my chances with being able to steal a game on the road against Vandy, Arky, Bama, UGA or UT(who all we play twice) instead of y'all or Florida.

And yet you keep posting in a basketball thread.
As always it'll be interesting to see what we do in the OOC. We'll have Michigan State in Chicago, Baylor in Arlington, North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and Louisville at home. We'll get a nice little revenge game in the Keightley classic against Robert Morris ( ). Even though Cleveland State is the more interesting opponent in that classic. A pretty solid slate for the young guys to cut their teeth.

You guys always play a good OOC schedule. Outside of the ones I listed, the next best I suppose would be getting Huggins at home and playing Northwestern and Nevada in the Vegas Invitational. Meh. I much preferred the Battle for Atlantis.
