I realize Tennessee isn't the cream of the SEC, but they're still an SEC team and they were crushed by Oregon.

Who would win Oregon-Bama? If BCS, you give Saban 6 weeks to prepare, Bama wins. But a non-conference game with only a week to prepare? Probably the home team would win.

Still, it would be an awesome NC game. Screw Ohio State. All they have to do is beat thoroughly incompetent Big Ten teams to go undefeated.

Damn, I wish A&M was playing tenn this year. Then crushing them would be a heisman moment too.

I have this weird déjà vu feeling.

I think UL-Lafayette beat Nicholls worse than Oregon did. Also, if JFF doesn't get hurt, it's his again.

Based on what I've seen so far I think Oregon would beat Bama

Bama, but close. Give the edge to Saban right there, especially with the time off.

They'll lose to Michigan State in Indianapolis

Of course they do. ESPN has had a weird Oregon fetish for a great # of years now, not sure why this is some surprise to people

Oregon came as close to beating Auburn as anyone that year. They've improved significantly in the trenches since then, so yes...they could beat anyone in the SEC on a given day.

They look great, but Oregon typically dominates at home in their little corner of the country. They'll lose a road game in PAC12 play this year.

I do to. As good as A&M on offense, and significantly better than A&M on defense.

@WASH on Oct 12, could be interesting.

They are at Stanford, a good chance at dropping that one too.

UCLA, although I don't see it, could upset them at home.

They will lose a game by a field goal in the regular season.

If Oregon and Bama played now. I think Bama might lose. If they played in NC Bama wins.

Neither team makes the NC game though

I was so shocked by Bama's uncharacteristic lack of defense last Saturday, maybe Oregon could take them. But then again, the offense did come up with 49 points. Oregon also has De'Anthony Thomas also and he's as fast an RB as there is in CF. Damn, I hope to see that game this year.

The quick answer is that Oregon can't beat upper echelon SEC teams, and the closest conference opponent they have to that style, Stanford, well, they can't beat them either.

Yeah Oregon looked great against Stanford last year when they scored 14 points.

Oregon gets its dick smashed in whenever it faces a real D.

oregon lost to them last year, but blew them out the previous 2 years when luck was their qb.

This, however it's a new season and maybe they have enough to get over the hump per se. I think a Bama-Oregon game would be interesting. I think the score would be low-mid 30's for both teams. I think Alabama's gotta have the edge for having been there/done that...and McCarron is cool under fire in big stage games. I'd have to give a fg nod to Bama.
