Man you need to settle down... Bjork knows what he is doing... He knows how to raise money (Ask Mizzou fans)... I know you're skeptical but this entire thing is going to turn out great... The reason he's asking for 10 million more by Nov. 1st is because he knows he can get it.. Watch... That money will be raised before we tee up the football for the LSU game... Bjork is a boss.

I think we have a better shot at winning the west than raising 10 mil in 7 weeks. I agree with your logic that he would not say that unless he knew he could raise it, but I have lost faith in Bjork. Who the frick would donate money to that NEZ? I realize that its just a temporary design, but why put it out if its not ready or if its not the real design?
There can be some sort of angle on everything he said in that video. The 10 mil thing... that could be a nice setup if he knows hes got a huge donation to be announced soon. The half arse bowl... that could be a motivation tool for fans or even a phase 1 of 2 phases to bowl in the NEZ. Once we need the extra seats and all suites are sold then finish the bowl. Those could be tactical reasons as to the shite I just saw. But there is no practical reason for putting the Arena that damn close to the stadium. Im sure Bjork wishes Boone didnt put the FedEX where he put it and put the video board so close. If Boone had used common sense and realized that eventually we will need to bowl the stadium completely, he wouldnt have made those mistakes and I had thought Bjork would have learned from that. But him putting that arena that close doesnt allow us to do shite to our West side.... EVER. We dont need 70K seats right now, but we will eventually. We certainly dont need 75K seats, but eventually, we will. I hate upper decks but I would at least like the opportunity to build thme in 20 years. My dream for the Vaught is to stretch both East and West suites from sideline to sideline instead of from the 20 to 20. Mimic the design of the SEZ and leave the only gap in between all four suites for the 4 video boards in the corner. That is a beautiful stadium that traps noise like no other it's size. If you dont think that that dream WAS possible with Freeze in the next decade, then you dont need to be our AD. The proximity of the Arena is the only thing I cant make some off the wall excuse for that I hope comes true.

What are they going to do with the Tad Pad? I don't understand why they just don't destroy it and build the arena at that location...

Probably because it will take a long time to build, and we would have nowhere to play for at least a season.

I didn't actually mean build on top of it. There is a big arse parking lot in front of it. I guess the traffic flow would be a issue.

All I heard was parking garage.

I don't think it looks bad at all if that's the plan for now, but I really hope they're planning on eventually making the NEZ mirror the SEZ. I will be pretty disappointed if they don't but it looks like they are leaving room for more expansion and suites like the SEZ when (not if) its needed. I like that they are trying to preserve the historic buildings but VH needs some uniformity, every side of it is completely different which doesn't look great IMO.
As far as the issue of proximity to the arena goes, I think this plan might limit West side expansion/renovation plans or at least make it difficult but I'm no engineer.
Just a thought but what if we somehow wrapped the East side upper deck/stands around the Northeast corner kind of like Minnesota did.

We wouldn't necessarily need to tear down any buildings and opening would be facing the heart of campus/new arena and plaza.

Arena looks great. Much better looking. Location...I guess I could get use to it. Just weird to have our facilities on top of each other like Vanderbilt.
As for the NEZ...there is room for expansion which is great. But they need to give the outside a little more pop/character. The gateway to the stadium type thing should stick out.

Whooooaaaaaaaa !!!!!! Easy man.. Bjork has a plan behind this... Dont be surprised if he already has a sizable donation lined up and he's gonna push hard for as much of this 10 mil as he can get, then Boom! instead of falling short of it at the 7 million mark he releases info about a 3.1 million $ pledge that pushes us over the top.
Go talk to semotruman about the things Bjork did at Mizzou.. She worked along side him in their AD and she said they hated to see him leave... No one had ever raised $ in Columbia the way Ross did.
ETA: I can tell from your posting history you arent a contractor... You're kinda gettin in over your head a bit talking about architecture and blue prints and such.

You're completely neglecting that we have a side opposite of the West that we can expand next. The time when we are FORCED to upgrade the West side is a hell of a long ways away.
You're also neglecting the possibility of us being able to build the west side connecting it to the arena. You don't need that much room for an upper-deck expansion.

Gillom is away from the football stadium. That's the soccer, rifle, volleyball and indoor tennis complex. So not sure what Ross is talking about updating there. Starnes and FedEx are next to the stadium along with the main athletics office. I guess those buildings will b gone. FedEx isn't that old so idk what they are going to do with that.
