For sake of context here, what do the non-Mizzou posters here make of Mizzou's 12-2 season in 2007, when it finished ranked #4 in the nation and one half of football away from the national title game? Was the program slumbering then? Was it relevant?

It is a program still only a few years removed from a 10-3 season in 2010. Last year was its first losing season in like 8 years, a streak A&M cannot say it matched in that time.

Why is mizzous entire program status and history here seemingly founded only on one injury riddled first sec season in which it was still only a play or two away from a bowl game? Our program is not the greatest by any means but nor is it the flaming pile of pig shite some of the hyperbole here suggests.

It's how society treats almost anything. We're a sound byte, tweet, status update, bottom line ticker culture with a very very selective long term memory.

They're my surprise pick of the SEC this year. With the Bowl, I can see them winning 10 games, if they stay healthy this year.

Mizzou falls into the category of USCe IMO. Not a consistent history of winning until recent years. A few good years sprinkled here and there over the first 100 years and then somewhat consistent success over the past 10. Being light on tradition is huge in the SEC. You don't have enough past success to point at to be taken as seriously as you want to be in the here and now.

USCe has won 3 in a row against us, and have started to earn respect around the SEC since Spurrier arrived but, they have been here 20+ years.

Mizzou hasn't beaten anyone yet (at least not IN the SEC) so, no respect across the conference.

Bottom line is, you aren't as shitty as we all say you are and you most definitely aren't yet as good as your fan base wants to believe you are.

Future

Cocks have shown the roadmap of slow and steady to the top so they are the poster child on how to rise up in the SEC. The future begins and ends with what Mizzou does more than anything else. It may be Pinkel winds up as a HoF SEC coach or it may mean Tiger admins will have to pony up for one like the Cocks dis with Holtz and Spurrier. I can not see the Tigers being Alabama like in the lifetime of the current posters on this board but I do believe they can have a future success.

The sun shines on every dogs arse eventually? Really, you need several consecutive (5 or more)years of at least top 10 (if not top 5) finishes to be any sort of a "giant," sleeping or otherwise. Mizzou is nowhere near that. I don't think that Boise State is considered one of the giants of CFB, and they have done waaaaay more than Mizzou.

Already brought up, by me, no response from any Mizzou's because I pointed out you don't add anything to the conference so we may as well have waited for a better opportunity. Questions for you: Why are y'all the only team that gets injured? If you can compete in the SEC, why didn't that happen last year? Can you name anything besides a TV market that y'all bring to the conference? I'm sure y'all will have a winning SEC season eventually, but former NFL QB's aren't going to win any games for you in the future.
