Coming down for a game in 2014

Trying to get a jump on planning a trip for a game next year. Anyway wondering what the best way to get to Athens is, flying into Atlanta and renting a car, or are there shuttle services that are out there? Never been to Georgia before so any help. I know Jefferson and others here cringe at the thought of my yankee feet setting foot in your sacred land.

And you're a Georgia fan? Does not compute.

Rule #1. If you get pulled over drunk in Athens NEVER EVER EVER ask the cop the score of the Braves game. Its a dead giveaway.

If there's no way of me talking you out of coming down here......please allow me to suggest coming for TWLOCP in Jacksonville instead of a home game. (Home meaning ours, not yours, btw) Half of the crowd there will be greasy yankee guidos too.......so you won't stick out like a sore thumb as badly.

Renting a car is your best bet ... Any type of bus, shuttle, train, cab, van, subway to Athens GA prolly doesn't exist or not worth the trouble

But I second the cocktail party. If you've never seen Athens I guess go there.
How are you a Georgia fan btw?

Kind of stupid but it was the 2000 Outback Bowl that caught my attention, I was 10 and loved the heart and fight they showed to come back and win that game after falling behind 25-0. Just stuck with them after that given the barren landscape that is college football in the northeast.

I don't.
You see? We don't even speak the same language......

BostonDawg, you’re always welcomed in the South. What Jefferson fails to understand is, unless he is of Native American decent, it’s a good bet he is of European decent and his family once called the north home. But I’m sure he’ll deny it. Nonetheless, please don’t let the white trash deter you from making a trip to Athens.
Back on topic, best bet is to rent a car. Take Hwy 85 to Hwy 316 right into Athens. Enjoy the game, get drunk and hit on every thing with a vagina. Most of the chicks downtown are Atlanta-"Yankees” anyway. Godpseed

Nice job trying to sound smart.......by saying something completely non-sensical and moronic. Congrats!
Meanwhile, you've heard of the american colonies Georgia and the Carolinas, right? That would be where my Anglo-Saxon and Ulster-Scot ancestors arrived back in the 1700s. There is a rumor of some Cherokee blood on my mom's side though....but i haven't seen it documented.
Anyway, I do have some ancestors buried in Confederate cemetaries and mass graves in northern virginia....which would be considered the north now...........but they weren't planning on staying that far north when they marched off from Georgia.

I think I just heard Bill Simmons' head explode over your blatant disrespect of the football powerhouse that is Holy Cross.

Hmmm, I've heard of the British colonies located there back in the 1700s. By definition, the Americans can't colonize their own lands.

Boston College?

A lot of people up here dislike BC unless you have a direct connection to there like being a student or related to someone who goes there. Going to college in the Boston you learn to hate BC and the elitism of the school. Also there's no connection between the state of Mass or city of Boston and BC because it is a Catholic institution not a public or non-denominational private university. That is all without saying the program is a joke, travels like shite, hires high school bands to play their bowl games to save money on travel expenses for the band. Overall BC is just uninspiring as a program and academic institution.
