Do coaches in the SEC physically punish these kids?

As in up-downs, hella running, 100 yd bear crawls, etc..

We did it in high school all the time.

It was effective in most cases.

I have no clue, but if you have to resort to that stuff to punish a college player I think you have bigger problems.

Most do. Les conducts an online poll from other players.

It's effective as hell in middle school football too. My son (8th grade safety) screwed around in a 7 on 7 camp last week and coach has his arse doing up-downs for what seemed like 30 minutes at practice yesterday. I guarantee you he'll show more awareness as a defender and won't let anyone burn him in practice today.

yes... there was an article a couple days ago about how malzahn made cam do a bunch of up-downs if he screwed up.

Hell, when we played like shite in a game our coach would make us do up-downs at halftime

Um...yeah...it is still football dude...I have seen NFL players policing themselves with physical punishment...everything you do to your body to get stronger and have more endurance is going to reward in the end..
