Mizzou relys on their own evaluations and player development. Recruiting rankings have become overblown. It's funny how all these schools that recruit so "deeply" still experience the same difficulties when the injury bug bites starters.
When Mizzou starters were injured in2012, we needed to recruit deeper. When Florida and UGA got hurt in 2013, their season was understandably disappointing. What happened to "Deep Recruiting?"
1 teams Blue Chip could be anothers bench warmer. And anothers 2 star recruit can be an all conference performer in the right scheme.

I wonder if the pathetic showing by the B1G will help convince some of the kids looking at MSU , OSU and Iowa to reconsider. I'm talking to you Terry Beckner, Raequan Williams and Anree Saint Amour.
I don't get why any player with NFL dreams would go anywhere but the SEC, it's simply the best conference with the best competition, if you shine in the SEC you will be a high draft pick.

I'm afraid he may become a Hog if they don't. I think he is only a sophomore this year too. Skylar knocked off the defending Missouri 6A Champs Blue Springs the week before, and I mean Skylar did it with his legs and arm. Dude is a gamer. Link below.

Mizzou offers high 3* Jalen Julis a CB out of Florida. Ran a 4.55 40 and had a 30.6" vertical at a Nike SPARQ event.

Mizzou still courting its No. 1 recruiting target, faring well so far

Mizzou has the best player from Kansas aboard, and sometime between now and national signing day, the Tigers could very well end up with the No. 1 player from neighboring Illinois. It is that kind of class for the Tigers, and there is room to grow.
Kansas’ No. 1 player A.J. Harris is already on board, and if five-star DE Terry Beckner (Illinois) come aboard, which is possible but not definite, it would be Mizzou’s biggest pickup since Dorial Green-Beckham. Fans have to love that.
The players in the class are stoked about the possibilities, and having one of the best quarterback recruits in the country aboard (Drew Lock) doesn’t hurt either.
“It’s been a dream of mine (to play at Mizzou) since I was a little kid,” Mizzou commitment Tanner Owen told Saturday Down South. “I’ve worked very hard for this and made it become real. It’s such a great accomplishment for me to make it this far. It will be great knowing that I will be going up against the best of the best every single play out there.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: Saturday Down South’s references to recruiting rankings are to 247Sports.com industry composite ranking.

Maybe our Arky posters could chime in but yeah, I think they are pretty hot and heavy after him. That highlight reel says 2013-2014 sophomore highlights so I think he's a junior this year. With the backlog of QB's, might be difficult, though Arky also has a backlog of quality QB's as well.

Daniel Imatorbhebhe is officially visiting Florida this weekend. From the sounds of it he's as good as decommitted. Seems like he might be being encouraged to look around by his parents, no idea why. This hurts because we missed on several big time TE targets and because his brother will probably end up a high 4* WR and they're a package deal.

If Florida can score some points then we might need to worry. But if Culkin can get some receptions and Nate Brown is having fun then Missouri will be fine

Bottom line...we have to curb stomp UF.

wish we knew what happened. His mother really loved Mizzou. I wonder if the Derrick Washington scandal is rearing its ugly head. Speculation on my part but they are a very religious family and that seems the sort of thing they might walk from.
Posted on 9/10/14 at 10:51 pm to pauliebleaker
Could very well be. But being a religious family is actually one of the reasons I was hoping they wouldn't go back on their word. Granted, it's part of the game, I had just hoped that that religious base would make them different than some others.

I would hope so too but if Muschamp is trying to convince them that we lack ethics, I'm sure its justifiable in their mind. Hopefully they wait to decide until half way through the season when it will become obvious Muschamp will be gone after another shitty year.

UF claiming ethics? That's rich. I hear ya and agree with ya, I just find that humorous. Good point on Muschamp potentially being gone. But gotta say, UF looked better in their first game than they have in recent years, even against the cupcakes.

Yeah. I just about did a spit take with the morning coffee on that one.

Imatorbhebhe still has Stanford, Cal, USC, and Vandy still in the mix. He is an early enrollee and wants to major in biomechanical engineering.
Wanna bet if Stanford offers he jumps? As a three star player, I would. No guarantee you'll make the pros but a Stanford education will make you rich and they use their TEs.
If he goes to Florida however, he will end up with an average education and still won't go pro.
