Aren't Tennessee's seats smaller than the normal seats in a college stadium?

Michigans are. They are 10 inches. Most are 12.

JHS holds 87,451 12" seats. If we had 10" seats, JHS would hold 104,941 seats.

that simply isnt true. the ugliest part of the stadium really is the newest part. the west side might be an eyesore to some (i certainly think so) but its not rundown. its not even 10 years old.

Is LSU shoehorning in more people in the same amount of space?

exactly. that makes it a rumor. you think miles really knows? that dude gets details wrong all the time.

miles was speaking in front of a crowd. the general just gave a nod, likely not to embarass miles.

if they really decided to add 4k extra seats to the capacity im sure one of the news outlets would have picked up on that.

Agreed. The old look of the initial bowl is really awesome, and looks even that much better since they've repaired the windows.

Agree. I'm not sure if yall are aware but they have replaced all the windows on the East/West side of the stadium. They only replaced the north at first but all are now replaced

Looks hell of alot better

im not saying he is 100% wrong, but it certainly wouldnt shock me. i'll wait to see it in writing before i believe it. stadium capacities are like fish stories when construction is going on.

I'd think the head coach would know about a detail this big, especially with how important it is to recruiting, etc.

He's really close to the vest with things that matter, typically.

Well, yeah.

I'm not saying that it's absolutely going to happen but a number of people involved with TAF have said the same thing. It's not just made up out of thin air.

That is a lot of empty seats.

From ESPN:
An average of 89,965 fans per game showed up for Vols games this year, meaning that, on average, every game played in Neyland Stadium had 12,990 empty seats. Tennessee had a 4.9 percent decline on a fans-per-game basis.

also one person stated that on td, and not one other person backed it up. so you are taking the word of one guy who went to a old man rally.

I say wait for LSU and A&M to finish then announce our new "contraction expansion" to claim the lead. All ticketholders would have to cross through 10" bars at the turnstiles to ensure the fatties stay out.

I'm not taking the word of any poster on TD. I've heard that number from a few folks.

for all his good traits he definitely can be a bumbling idiot at times. i wouldnt put much stock in what the guy says at a rally, especially about something thats not his expertise.

i'm not saying he's straight up wrong but yall passing this off like its fact is also misleading.
