He was a freshman in the spring and it was his first spring on the team. I expect him to play in the fall, atleast initially before we find a rotation. I expect every WR who isn't redshirting to see time at the start with how wide open things are
It also appears Davis has been the most impressive of the 3 other QBs so far

Are we referring to the same person? Sabian Holmes is a SOPHOMORE.

So you're saying he wasn't wrapping up his freshman year this past spring? News to me. He's been running with the first team in the fall so far apparently FWIW

He is a sophomore. He was a freshman. Let's all move on from this inane conversation

some things I've had passed on:
- Matt Davis has made massive strides. Think the backup spot won't be decided til the final week
- Every single person starts off talking RSJ every time. Just is a natural catching the ball
- The offensive line "will be better than last year". And Ogbuehi is likely going to play himself into the 1st round this fall
- Isaiah Golden is probably going to start. He's long term a nose but he's been just unblockable once they put the pads on and they have to find a spot for him now
- Daeshan Hall may well play himself into the rotation. He's still rail thin though
- The backups at LB are still a mess. It's early still but no one has yet emerged
- Of the freshman DBs, Vic Davis has been the most impressive so far. And he's playing corner

Interesting...highlights from the closed Scrimmage
RSJ (#9) all over them. And that's Noel Ellis (#6) that makes the pick at the end
Also interview with OC Clarence McKinney

Do you think RSJ will be running with the first team by the end of camp?
Posted on 8/11/13 at 4:49 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
the way it was told to me this morning, the only WR that has been more impressive to date has been Evans. "He catches everything" and he will immediately be a key 3rd down target. So no I don't think they are going to hold him back because of seniority. Probably the only thing that would keep him out of the starting lineup is not knowing how to lineup which would slow our tempo.
Btw, they've been putting RSJ at the Y which is Swope's old spot and means he and Evans would be running intertwined routes.

Oh man I can't wait. Any word on my boy quiv out of camp?

He's the only other freshman WR that I've heard anything about but honestly it's just been in passing while RSJ has been like the first thing brought up (and after seeing the scrimmage highlights we can see why)

Can you imagine a formation in which the eligible receivers are:
RSJ (6'6)
Clear (6'6)
Evans (6'5)
Pope (6'4)
Williams (6'3)

The best Hail Mary team in the country. The versatility we have at the skill positions on offense is incredible. We have 6'3"-6'7" freaks, 5'9"-5'11" burners, RBs that can split out and catch the ball.
I fap to our offense nightly

Good interviews.
I love listening to Sumlin break it down. Just seems like such a down to earth guy. :nohomo:
