QB: Apparently GP is waiting until mid August to name a starter But I'd feel just as comfortable if not more comfortable if we had to play Printz or Hosick than I did Berk last year and they're 4/5 down the list.

The fact that JF is going to media days tells me that he's GP's man. Lets hope all the stuff he's been doing in the offseason results in a more confident strong armed QB. If its the same defeated, noodle armed JF from last year, we're fricked.

Hopefully, Mauk is ready to drive the bus this season. My gut tells me they're going to need him at some point this year.

Pinkel just said in media days that Franklin had more injuries than any starting quarterback he's eer had in all his years of coaching. Said he was incredibly tough, and that he was pretty much injured all last year. But right now the job is his, he's got an edge. Says he has a fire to him.

And in talking about Josey, said they handled his return slowly to build his confidence, and that doing great. They expect him to be 100%. And he talked about how great Murphy is doing as well.

Also just said he has to touch the football and that we will have a number of touches per game that they want to get him. That sounds a lot like he will be playing a major factor this year.

This is good news. Now, lets have the RB's run forward instead of parallel with the LOS and we're getting somewhere.

All, sarcasm aside, I like what I'm hearing.

I really like the emphasis on the TE being an actual TE and not just a receiver who weighs more than the average receiver. I feel like that should help in terms of blocking. Every quote I have seen today regarding DGB is the emphasis of getting him the ball as much as possible. Regardless of depth chart listing, it appears the coaching staff views him as the top playmaker.

Yeah, I really liked Pinkel's answer to the DGB question. I wanted to kick in my TV several times last year when Yost totally ignored DGB for multiple quarters at a time. He'd score a 70 yard TD early in the game, then they'd throw one or two passes to him the rest of the game.

Mauk will never drive the bus. Printz/Hosick are better, and we'll get a qb in '14 that is better too.

The fact that Matt White still makes an appearance on the depth chart hurts my soul.

They said this about Franklin at the beginning of last year. I hope for his sake and ours this is not another case of false hope and unrealistic expectations.

I know a girl who has class with Josey. He has said repetitively he is 100% and all reports are he has looked fantastic all off season. I feel on most teams outside of the SEC Josey would have played at some point last season.

The difference there is that Josey was allowed a complete rehab. Franklin was rushed back. franklin was nowhere near 100% last year, at any time. They didn't need Josey, as we had other good RBs to take up the slack - Lawrence was a 1,000 yd rusher last season, and Murphy was decent as a RB, great as a return man. It also allowed Hansbrough to get some playing time. But after T Gabbert left, we were thin at QB. So they pushed Franklin back before he was ready.

I'm excited to see how both of them perform this year.
