He will. But I'm not overly concerned, at the end of the day, A&M is exploiting its endowment and has a clear vision on how to do that. Is Loftin leading the charge on this whole 25 by 25 thing? I think academically that needs the most focus and attention at the moment. We better get that right.

NOOOOOOO, GOD NOOOOOOOO

Perry as President = McKinney redux

Besides, do you really think that Perry would work for Sharp (the Chancellor)?

It is my hope that Rick Perry will fully embrace retirement and leave the rest of us alone.

I disagree with his views of higher education and I would hope he wouldn't impose his will on A&M in that respect, but I'm guessing he would.

Y'all don't seriously believe the TexAgs conspiracy theories about Perry becoming university president, do you? That's just a bunch of pot-fueled nonsense put out by some paranoid faculty members who see Rick Perry hiding behind every bush and corner.

I haven't been on TA in months. I just saw the timing as too coincidental. They could name an interim for a year until Perry steps in, right?

There are very few coincidences in the world. I hope Perry isn't going to replace him.

Theoretically, sure. I've just seen no reason to believe that Perry wants the job. All the speculation I've seen (outside of Aggie message boards) centers around him making another ill-fated run for President of the United States, not President of A&M.

The only good thing Perry will do for the University is bring back bonfire. Other than that I don't see him being a good president.
