Ole Miss can have Eli, Alabama will take the piles of SEC and National Championships instead.

wasn't the first 3 Super Bowl MVP's all QB's from Alabama?
but if you mean more recently, I understand your point. One would figure from our air-attack based offense over the last 20 years that we would have more NFL success, since QB is the only position that wins games, right ?

I guess Starr, Namath and Stabler - 3 Super Bowl winners don't count?

Of course that's historic and living in the past

McCarron will be a solid NFL QB IMO.

It's mostly our system, which is set up for longevity instead of needing a great quarterback to run it. Adversely however, USC has sent more sought-after quarterbacks to the NFL recently who have been busts.

I can't really think of many teams lately that have just produced quarterbacks year in and year out (besides USC)

Bama has had more starting NFL QB's than most teams.

But I don't give two fricks. I don't watch the NFL.

The real question is how many former Ole Miss kickers have gone on to own their own Camper/RV business? I'm betting none. Ole Miss is a joke.

Alabama had plenty of NFL caliber QBs through the 1960s, then switched to the wishbone in 1971. We pretty much were a run-first offense until 2007. The Nick Saban era has been the first instance of actual solid QB play, from a passing perspective.

My guess is that Saban is not interested in a "star" QB who is looking to impress scouts with prolific passing numbers. Those kind of QB's don't fit into Saban's conservative ball control offense.
